Hi Curse WoW-ers.

In June, my account was perma-banned from posting on the WoW forums. It was completely wrongful, so I e-mailed them appealing it and got a cookie cutter auto-no response. To say I am pissed would be an understatement.

What happened was a few years back I got a 3 hour suspension from posting. In late May/early June I mentioned that suspension mistakenly as a ban in another topic. They thought I was circumventing a forum ban and slapped a perma ban on me. It is complete BS.

The only way to contact them is via an e-mail that I already received the auto-no response from. Now they do not respond at all. This is BS, I am being deprived of valuable resources like the CS and TS forums, the Addon forums. Everything.

Any advice on what to do? Is there a number for the CM department I can call? Anything is appreciated as I am about an inch away from cancelling my account.

I suggest you buy a War account, you won't get your WoW one back, perma bans are... perma...

I didn't do anything. Therefore the perma ban shouldn't exist.

Well surely they didn't ban you for no reason at all.  You should be able to get in contact with them though.

They thought they had a reason, but they didn't. I promise. If I had done the crime I would happily do the time.

If that's the case it was probably a misclick of some sort.  Hope you get your account fixed.

Keep trying to get in touch with them by email. I was able to get through to them for mine. Apparently saying "Glyph of the Asian: Increases players skill and reflexes dramatically." gets you a perma ban. Somehow it DEMEANS asians. (Although it is a bit racist, its funny. But perma ban?)

Make a new email...pay for the account and start over

OMG, You can't troll forums.  What will you do?  Have you thought of just ending it all?  I would.  Life is pointless without the ability to troll wow forums.

Get a life.

If you have been perma banned Blizzard will have send an email to the account attached to the account, explaining why the account was banned. So double check the email account and also check the junkmail folders, there has to be a email somewhere from Blizzard.

When you call have ID/Original Serial Number (from Vanilla WoW) and the Secret Answer Question ready.

Clarification: My account was banned from the forums ONLY. I can still play (thank goodness!).

Still no luck. Also, I don't "troll" the forums. I use them for things like Suggestions, CS, Tech Support and UI/Addon Support. I am being deprived of some pretty valuable resources right there, all because I made a mistake and referred to a suspension as a ban.

Talking about a ban calls for a perma ban, sadly. Just keep getting in touch and telling them you didnt know, etc. etc.

Forums are a privaledge, not a right... They will not reverse it. There really is no reason that you NEED forum access anyways.

Actually kkotd there is a reason I need them. Tech Support, UI/Addon support. Get it?

There isn't anything that you can do. Blizzard's community team don't follow their own code of conduct, and apparently answer to no one. Like a cop on an ego-stroking powertrip.

You're not the first person to be perma-banned at the drop of a hat. Go search on google and look at the reasons people have been perma banned... it is indeed ridiculous.

Buy another account and post your questions on the forums under that one. Or use another site. Wowhead has a decent UI/addon forum with helpful people.

And look forward to the day that when forced migrations to a battle.net account occur you won't be able to forum post for any of Blizzard's games.

I agree with your comments especially on the Blizzard Community team code of cconduct behaviour, it seems very stupid the comments that people are banned for.

I got a warning for saying that "I am black and not African Amercian, since I not born in USA and do not accept that label" and I added that maybe I should call myself "Jamaican British" anyway, that got me suspended for 30 days   :-)

Here is what I was perma banned for.   Been trying to talk them into reversing it for years now, they don't care.  And I sure as hell am not gonna buy another copy of them game just so I can post on forums, not to mention if I want to post on my main I would also have to pay the transfer fee.   All this for posting a FAKE Harry Potter spoiler, lol.
