SOLUTION TO ADDONS INSTALL PROBLEM!!!! -Vista

I found a solution!!!

Since Bill Gates hates us, vista comes with a promission system that requires user confirmation in order to grant access to core folders such as Program Files.

Here is a solution that should work for everyone on vista:

1) COMPLETLY exit out of Curse Client.

2) On the shortcut of Curse Client, right click and press "Run As Administrator".

3) Open up Curse and click "open" or "allow" from the confirmation window.

4) ???

5) Profit

That should all work. I have Vista Home Prem with the latest updates and everything nice and tidy. I have done nothing at all except run as admin.

XP users, you're out of luck. Go down to WoWMatrix or do it manually. Plus how do you have XP these days o.o [gimme]

Ok I really have no clue why you are advertising WoWMatrix here, XP and the curse client have Absolutely No Problems At All. And tbh, if I didnt have the Windows 7 RC, I'd choose XP over Vista all day long

or you can disable the confirmation like any normal vista user would instead of allowing the confirmation screen to pop up.

your "promission system" (permission system, L2 spell) is called User Account Controls and can be disabled by going to the Control Panel (accessed via the Start Menu)/ User Accounts and clicking the link "Turn User Account Control on or off"

also, the curse client works fine on XP since there is no UAC built in. know your systems before you talk
