i have been looking for an add on that helps locate mineral veins on the big map but i cant find one that works. i have tried gather mate a a few others and none of them work.. can someone please tell me what im doing wrong or suggest something that works.. please

Both GatherMate and the GM_Data were updated a few days ago and are working just fine :)

is there any possible way to create an addon that will produce an audible sound when a mining node appears on your radar?

Sorry, no.

i downloaded gatherer and it works great, only problem of course is that u have to find the vein before gatherer knows where it is. so doing the work at first will pay off huge later, especially if you mine to sell!

Have Gatherer learn everything right away. Browse to wowinterface.com and download the Gatherer Database. Or switch to GatherMate and its DB, which I linked above. Either works. Don't forget to import, regardless of which one you pick.
