Curse premium breaks ToS for WoW?

I have been away from WoW for awhile but last I read from the devs in WoW they specificly said charging RL money for an add-on breaks their ToS since they are allowing the add-on creators access to the code...

I looked up the link for everyone here to the portion of WoW's website that specificly states charging for any add-on or creating "premium" feautres is against the ToS and add-on policy for WoW.

At the link in rule #1 it clearly supports what I thought to be true. I Like Curse a lot but charging for an add-on is not cool to say the least. Carbonite at their site does fine with donations only.

This is a dead horse still being beaten it seems... Curse does NOT charge for its addons. Yes, there is a premium version of their DOWNLOADER but it is not an addon. It is not used in game or anything.. It merely automates things for the lazy by (a) downloading the mod and (b) unzipping mod into addons folder.

It is your choice to use it or not.. but it is not an addon. First learn what an addon actually is before beating dead horses again.

Not only that, Carbonite does fine? Until that change by Blizzard, most of Carbonite was PAY-ONLY.. They were one of the main reasons for the rule change and were forced to go freeware or nowhere.

Curse has never, and never will, charge for addons. The client is free, as well; however there are some features that are Premium only, and require a subscription fee. As Wowza said, the client is not an addon, it is a downloader.

Also, Curse.com is an Official Blizzard Fan Site, and as such, follows the rules explicitly.

Dead horse indeed.
