When I try to set something as a focus target i get the following error message;

Update ALL your addons, since the message you posted, while thorough, didn't say which addon is faulty. If you have the Client, depending on v3 or v4, make the following change:

v3 -- Manage Games, change install type to Beta instead of Release

v4 -- tools... options, and one of the panels has the same option.

A friend told me he had the same problem, and when he disabled Cartograher, he was able to set focus again... however, I also use Cartographer and disabling it did nothing. I still have the same error. I have located what addon i THINK may be it but you don't seem to have it on your list so it is a very puzzling issue.

You might also want to install BugGrabber with BugSack; they provide a better error catcher that has more information. There is a green sack on the minimap (which might plug into your TitanPanel) that turns red when you have an error. Copy any errors (one at a time, please) and paste them here. To copy the text, click, hold down the mouse button, and drag to select the text.

You will get this in every situation with every addon this is executed through.

Set your focus using blizz-inteface, blizz-chat or macro.

Every changed interface will most likely give you a "tainted" error. (eg Wim)

I kept disabling my addons until i found which one seemed to be the problem but since the error message does not name the addon, I asked the author to take a look. He said it is a blizzard error. I dont know what to do about that. I guess just live with no focus?

Tainting is hidden quite well. And errors displayed are misleading most of the time.

You can switch on a console option:

/console taintLog 1

This will create a logfile in your WoW-Logs which is telling you a little more about it.

Still it takes too much effort to find all sorts of "taint" and remove it from every addon.

Use a macro ... that is better, faster and works 100% ...

Come to think of it, yes, there is a bug in the Blizzard code that hasn't been fixed for several patches. To avoid or reduce that taint error, target who/what you want to make your focus, and type /focus

Unluckily this will fail (when an addon already tainted the code) when the chat frame is not the blizzard-chat (eg Wim).

Wow, thank you for suggesting the /focus. I dont use any chat mods so this works just fine for me. How do i unset the focus though?

lol, thanks. I tried everything BUT that command.

I was just looking at random posts, then i fell over this one. Cause i had the exact same problem, caused by some malfunction with x-perl and Titan comnbined in some sort of addon fail xD

Though the solution was as simple as it could get im still happy that i read this post. Thanks^^
