Curse won't start

When double- clicking on the Curse desktop shortcut the little loading ring appears and after a second it disappears. After 2 minutes of waiting the client won't start, so I tried to start it through the .exe in the installation folder (C:\Program Files\Curse) but exactly nothing happened. I have tried installing it to a different folder, but that won't work either. And yes, I have also tried "run as administrator". Can it be that I just upgraded to Windows Vista (SP 2) and it won't support this OS? Any other program that might interfer? Or is it just a bug?

I have version 3.0.0.7 installed.

I'd like to know what the problem is, so that if possible I can fix it.

I'm having the exact same problem. I tried reinstalling to no avail.

This only started happening to me after the latest RoM updates/patches.

I'm having the SAME problem... but with Client v4!!!

 

Those that say v4 fixes the problem should investigate WHY it's happening WITH v4 too!

For those of you using v3 please upgrade to v4 of the client.

 

Selmara, you would have to provide a lot more infomration than "it's happening to me too" in order to help diagnose the issue.

the same has happened to me,ive tried to install v4 and it wont open at-all,i use a mac and wondered if that was the problem as some addons work fine and some dont ,HELP

Okay Mr.Pickie!

 

Currently running Full Legit Retail Windows 7 Home Premium, Curse Client v4 was working AFTER installing W7 until about a week ago (recent Curse update??).

I think it may be a .NET issue because it after reinstalling Curse Client v4 it seemed during the .NET portion of the installation to quickly fly through and not really install anything. Just a thought... Is there a Windows 7 .NET update or fix?

 

I have tried disabling virus software/firewall for installation & launch. No effect. Just shows the normal loading cursor for less than 2 seconds when run and no program launches. Checked Task Manager and there are no signs of CurseClient.exe running or anything that would conflict with it.

Have tried 'Run as Admin' and every compatibility mode that W7 offers. Nothin!

 

Does the Curse Client save an error log that would be helpful for me to diagnose this problem?
