Pet defends party?

I am an experienced player lvling with a newbie warlock. In order to help me know what he's doing as much as possible and facilitate grping as much as possible, we've implemented a few addons that help with grp questing. One in particular gave me an idea that I hope someone out there has already had. Follow Felankor (located on WoWInterface) allows your party to give you specific commands and your toon will obey (this is quite helpful when one of us goes AFK for a few min and the other wants to continue down the road toward the questgiver). It includes telling your grp member to mount up and follow you.

So to get down to my question: Is there a warlock addon out there that will allow the player to set his pet to defend the party? I'm playing a feral druid and I'm pretty much always the one to initiate combat. The warlock takes a few sec to send his pet in. Is there anything short of setting his pet to passive that will allow it to attack when i do? Or, at the very least, defend me?

Or, alternatively, is there a mod to shorten the distance that a pet will attack while on aggressive? Anything at all for either question?

There are very, VERY, few player commands that can be used via an addon. These include such things as player movment commands. These are not allowed to prevent bots. If you are the tank then your parties responsibility is to start DPS as soon as possible but not TOO soon. The lock sounds like they are playing properly. There is nothing worse as a tank then to have another party memeber start DPSing just as your first attack hits and take all the aggro off you and force you to blow your rotation to get the mob back.

As far as your question is concerned there is no way to limit the range at which a pet will autoattack while on agressive and I do not think there are any addons out there to control another players pet. It does seem that this may be possible but I am sure that if it was that it would already be out there. I think that every addon that can be made has been made and now we are just streamlining what is out there and adjusting for pathches as they are released.

See my "Thread to end all threads thread" for the answer to your question!

Well i appreciate the reply but the lock and i aren't in an instance.. this is for quest lvling and it doesnt matter terribly much who has aggro.

I'm not wanting to control his pet. I am wanting his pet to understand that we are in combat and to attack. Most of the conditions are there for this if his pet were on aggressive. I would not be controlling it--but it's range for attacking other mobs is too big. There isn't some macro out there that would lend some kind of conditioning like: "when in combat attack"?

I guess I dont understand why you're telling me player movement commands are not allowed when I stated above that this was possible through Follow Felankor... which is why I think this could perhaps be possible. Anybody got anything more definitive either way?
