Where I fly around? I don't see any waypoints or anything that tells me where to find on my map.

Npcscan doesn't know where NPCs are. It simply alerts you when it notices that you're near them. You need to have a general idea of where to find them already, which you can get from thottbot, wowhead, etc.

You could also get _NPCScan.Overlay which puts an overlay on your main and mini map where the rare mobs are most likely to be found. You just have to fly around in these places then and wait... and wait... and wait... (good to have though, it has found a few rares for me and helped my hunter when I looked for Gondria)

The easiest way to get an NPC ID is to use Wowhead. Just find the NPC you want and grab the ID from the URL. For example, to find Razormaw use Wowhead to get the URL http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=17592. The number at the end (17592) is the NPC ID.

npcscan already comes preinstalled with those rare IDs. I use it and it's helped quite a bit in terms of finding them. I'm usually never looking for them on purpose, npcscan and the overlay provide me a good warning if it detects one around.
