is there such a thing? I need an add on that makes a noise when there's an ore or herb found on my minimap. who knows how many ores and herbs I've passed by and me not knowing they're there.

This is not possible. The only thing you can do is keep track of the minimap better and look for your yellow dots.

You can however use Gatherer with the HUD option on and simply track your way to remembered nodes.

That sucks. I have a very narrow vision. I can only look at a small area of the screen.

just out of curiosity, all the mod would have to do is flash the screen and make a sound like omen when a new dot appears on the minimap.

the mod wouldnt really have to care what the dot is, just that a new one popped up.

heck, only yellow dot detection would be fine. some folks like myself have very narrow vision ranges and to fly around and watch the mini map at the same time requires the mini map to be near the center of the screen.

Hence why the HUD option in Gatherer or GatherMate would be useful for you. Having narrow vision is not really a unique thing. All humans have it. Some of us are just better at being able to multi task, and hence why we are better at raiding.

If you are concerned about missing these things on your MiniMap, or even World Map, then get both Gatherer (or GatherMate, pick one) and ALSO the database files. Then import the DBs, and voila - they will show up all over the place, and you won't miss anything, narrow vision or not.
