I've searched extensively for this, but to no avail.

I'm looking for an SCT like addon that displays your damage identical to the way blizzard displays it, however, movable.

The problem I find is on fights like Supremus (Now that 2.4 made him MASSIVE) I can't see my damage =(

It just ruins the encounter having half your damage cut off because its' at the top of the screen.

Anyone know of an addon that will cause your default combat text to behave this way? With movable frames for displaying it.

My apologies if this is a wasted post because I just haven't looked hard enough, or has already been addressed on these boards. I couldn't find a similar post after searching for some time..

I don't think it's possible. As I understand it, and I could be wrong, there's no function to allow addons to get 3D positioning. Therefore, you wouldn't be able to move a "frame" around the target for combat text purposes.

If you're that concerned about seeing your damage at all times, check out Mik's Scrolling Combat Text.

What I mean by "frame" is with Scrolling Combat Text, and Parrot, etc.. you can move the frame where the text is displayed. Off to the side, in the middle of your screen, etc.

I'm just looking for that option to move the Blizzard text down lower.. you understand what I mean?

It's hard to explain exactly.. but I'm looking for something that takes the Blizzard style damage text.. because it just looks amazing as melee DPS.. so sparratic, and brutal. Rather than columnar like SCT, Parrot, Mik SCT.. and allows you to reposition it so it's not on top of the boss's head.

try msbt it has seperate frames for damage dealt to you, damage you deal, and like what happens. They are all moveab;e

Yeah, I've tried that, and it's not what I'm looking for.

I'll just deal with the addons that I can find =( Blizzard's damage text just looks so much cooler. If only it were movable. =(

im using sct aswell but would like to get rid of it...

for displaying my damage i use sctd (sct damage) with sct.

Isn't SCTD what you are looking for? It's an extension to SCT, and displays your damage. It has a separate frame, which is movable anywhere on the screen. AFAIK it can be used separately (without SCT).

it helps, i agree.. but what would be much much better is to be able to move in-game built-in combat text so it doesn't appear so near bottom or to finish so near top or whatever...

i mean... you have one SCT that is nearly perfect and you are forced to shut it down and put another one that is the same merely because first one is not moveable... damn what a waste of memory/cpu/hdd resources

I fear it will be like that... replacing standard UI features with more customizable addons for the the future of the game. There is talk about built in Threat meter.. no doubt it will be lacking a feature we are all used to or like and hopefully one of the creative addon developers will come up with a method to fix it.

That's the biggest thing that bugs me about Blizzard. When someone makes an addon they like.. they take the basic idea of it.. and slap it into their game.

Without at first thinking.. "Which part of this addon makes it so innovative?"

Like the Blizzard scrolling combat text for events, and when you receive damage. It looks terrible, can't be customized very well and it moves ridiculously fast. That's why I use SCT for that.. because its perfect.

But , W00d5t0ck, SCTD is exactly what I'm looking for, however, with the option to make it look and behave like the default blizzard damage over the boss's head. Only.. not over the boss's head. Rofl Been using SCTD for years as a Priest.. then Mage.. and it was great. Because those are graceful, esthetically pleasing classes. Whereas Enhancement Shaman? NOOOO I NEED CHAOS. And that's what the Blizzard battle text delivers, only.. in a bad position on the screen. lol

I think I'd best just learn to code... lol and make my own addon using the frame system of SCTD, while maintaining the behavior of Blizzard damage.
