Disconnects - Addon Problem?

Hi there everyone

Sorry in advance for my English - I'm a German User : )

I'm having serious problems with discs now for several months. Any action related to the inventory (really any, like moving items, looting, buying/selling, casting soulshards etc.) may cause a disconnection from the Wow server. Those discs happen in very irregular intervals (from after 5 mins. up to 60 mins.) I use several but very popular AddOns, do always load the latest updates. I also contacted Blizz Tech Support, they told me (what else would they do? ^^) to clean Cache, WTF and WBD folders. I did so but copied then the most needed saved variables again (just to avoid the whole setup from my beloved UI).

But everything was without success. I keep having discs. Very annoying when you are in the arena casting a healthstone and you lose the fight because of the disc!!

Does anyone know such or a similar problem? I would really appreciate your comments, advice and ideas.

Thanks in advance

Try to delete saved variables and setup the addons just to be playable and test to see if u get DC again. Some addons change the info they store with new versions.

Well, I just did what you suggested and deleted the complete saved variables and set up all addons (about 2 hours of hard work ^^). Unfortunately, I keep having the discs. It's still, when looting, every time I have a short lag while the moment of looting. Sometimes, it's just the lag, othertimes, it disconnects. When I try to login directly, after enterning the world, I have an immediate disc again. Then, when trying to login, the screen stays with the "Connection succsessfull" - I have first to click the "Cancel" button (sorry don't know the exakt name of the button in english), then I get to the Sever selection screen, I click my server and only then I get logged in.

I find all this very strange, and: It drives me crazy because I just can not find the cause of this more than annoying problem!!

Need all the help I can get : ))

Have you tried playing without any AddOns enabled just to test ?

If you still get disconnects, then obviously it isn't an AddOn causing the problem :(

If things seem fine, then its time to re-enable your AddOns one at a time to see when the problem starts happening - you might be able to make an educated guess as to which ones is/are the cause and test those first...

The most common cause for disconnect is probably when you try to access item link information for items that haven't been seen on the server - so things like LootLink, AtlasLoot, etc. and things that are recording what items you loot are prime candidates.
(I am NOT accusing either of the above AddOns themselves as I never had a problem with them, but perhaps you have some odd combination of Settings...)

The only other common reason for disconnects is when you try to send "New Line" characters to the chat frame, or when colour codes & incorrectly formatted item links are sent to the chat frame. Do you have an AddOn that reports to the chat frame when looting... ?

Otherwise, I have no idea.

Sounds like you are having problems with a mod that is being affected by "onupdate" calls to your inventory. In other words, a mod is scanning your inventory for changes and is processing too heavily when one happens. Right now, a hunter mod called Venantes is doing it for me.

Enabling your addons in small groups and playing for awhile will help. Like only enable your first 5 . . play for 30 mins. If it's okay, then disable those 5, enable another 5 and see what happens.

I had this problem and it turned out to be the addon TitanAmmo. If you have this addon, disable it and see if that clears your problem.
