its an addon named instabolt and has not been updated in ages, with the arrival of 2.4 it will cease to funtion

ive grown a bit attached to having shouted "dreadfull damage" in my ear every time i crit i find it simply annoying to play the ptr without it

its a simple addon as far as i can see, so if a kind person with a bit more knowhow of addons could fix it i would be a very happy warlock :D

it's annoying without it? you're a weirdo in my estimation. anyhow...there should be another addon out there that does what you want....look under the "Audio" section of this website and other addon sites.

^^, should not be that hard to update, its a relativly simple addon
or if some1 would be so kind to link me a good tutorial il just do it myself

anyway, theres an addon out there that lets you change all sound events in WoW. Its under the audio section. Its like Sound manager or something. Hope that helps.

Leth, there are a few addons that will provide audio and video queues to when you've scored critical hits There are also some like Critline for Titan Panel and TopScoreFu for Fubar that will give you a splash on new high crit and non critical damages. Does the addon not work or is it simply flagged as out of date?

Also please understand that Frumpy is a regular poster at curse but not a mod or a member of the curse staff. Frumpy, I've seen a similar attitude from you on multiple occasions in your posts. I'm going to ask you one time only to discontinue the sarcastic nature and condescension in some of your posts. There are way to say things and offer advice and then there are ways to lace a response with scorn and holier-than-thou attitude.

il be looking into it today as il prolly be fixing/updating 50% of my addons, but what im really looking for is an addon that does the exact same sound

and yes, the addon will simply not work (or at least it didnt on the ptr, which is representable to live 2.4 i recon) which given the changes makes sence (combatlog update & all)

oke, ive tried to find an addon that does a sound, and is updated for 2.4

but there doesnt seem to be any.

i do however have the sound files from instabolt, so if somebody could give me an alternate source for an addon that plays sounds on crits i will just fiddle with it myself till i get it working

Yep there is a Questhelper update... make sure you remove your old Questhelper folder before downloading the new one!
