Im not sure but try to get a good amount of addons before trying to see if one will pop up. This might do the trick. If not i am terribly sorry. I hope i helped you.

I have over 100 addons with no lag! Need help finding or even installing an addon? NO PROBLEM!! Just PM me and i will help out as best as i can!

The best way to this is to not extract to a specific location and then drag. The best way is to simply extract the addon to the right directory to begin with.

Download the addon and then open it with winzip. You'll notice the right most column in winzip tells you what folder name the files will extract to. If you just see the name of the addon there like \ctra\ or \stunwatch\, hit extract and extract it right into c:\wowdir\interface\addons Some addons come zipped up as\interface\addons\name of addon. You have to extract them to your wowdir. Occasionally, an author messes up and forgets the folder name all together. If that happens, you need to make your own folder under addons and dump the files in there. Alert any author that accidentally does that.

Help!..k so I don't even know if I am in the right place to ask however...I have read the entire few entries in order to get auctioneer to work..I have placed the zip file and unzipped it into the wowdir\interface\addons\ and still am getting no where. What am i doing wrong. Did i set something up wrong with wow itself?

Anybody know what the original path when one sets the game up is? I think that might be my problem cuz i show it as in the place it should be in...I even deleted some of my old add ons from the list to see if there was any change in the game load screen and it showed the ones that I deleted as still being there. Man I think I did a doozy here.

right click your WOW icon on your desktop and pick props. Go to the shortcut tab. Find out what directory is listed there. That should give you a clue as to where your WOW is installed.

So i found the right path, but now its not showing up in game when i load up. I have removed other mods and then added them to make sure its the right path, however Auctioneer is not showing up. Whats next?

Are you sure your mod is up to date?

When you get to your character screen do you have load out of date mods?

Report this thread post

I think so. All the add ons are in the same tab. I can click on the ones that are listed on the list (i.e. Necrosis and bonus scanner) and on the same screen is a load out of date tab. I click on it and still nothing happens. The Auctioneer is not listed on that tab list when it comes up. And yet I can open the file itself ( target file) and manaully place the auctioneer right next to the necrosis file. Still nothing. Man I really should have studied comps while in college. Eeeesh

There is another thread about auctioneer having the same issue. I wonder if the download of it is corrupted.

Report this thread post

When you extracted Auctioneer, did you get only 1 directory?
If so, what you need to copy to \Interface\Addons isn't that one directory, but rather the 4 directories contained in that one dir, namely:
!Swatty, Auctioneer, EnhToolip & Stubby

If WoW doesn't find a .toc file inside a directory with the exact same name as the dir, then WoW'll assume it's not an addon.
(in your case you'd need to have: "\Interface\Addons\Auctioneer\Auctioneer.toc")
So if an addon doesn't show up in WoW's addon list, always check if a .toc with the same name exists.

hey i have NO idea what so ever how to do mods could u explain to me?

Report this thread post

I FIGURED IT OUT!! but it says incompatible wtf???

Report this thread post

If it says incompatible then there is a 99% chance that you downloaded a pre-2.0 version of a mod. Any mods listed pre-2.0 will not work and will show incompatible on the addon screen.

Im new to the whole mod thing, i just signed up, and i dont know how you even get the mods to work. I dont know what you do after you download the mod off the site. i tryed extracting but i couldnt find c:\wowdir\interface\addons. Can someone help me?
