I don't realyl know the best way to explain this, but none of my settings are being saved on WOW, everytime i load up WOW my ui scale is different, some of my mods are not in their right place, a few of the default ui settings have been reset.
Anyone know why this is and how to fix it, i mean my last resort is of course redoing my whole UI but its alot of hassle so I wouldnt mind some ideas first.
ATM I have the new Photek and thats about it,

Does it happen when you don't have any AddOns enabled ?
If so, then how are you exiting WoW ? You must exit via the in-game menu and NOT simply close the gaming window via Alt-F4 or clicking on the Windows "X" in the top right corner (when playing in windowed mode).
If not, then its one of your AddOns that is causing the problem - possibly by causing some kind of silent crash when ever you exit the game. Try re-enabling your AddOns one at a time and logging in and out, to see when the problem re-occurs, at which point you know what AddOn has cause the problem and you can report/avoid it from then on...

Telic's ideas are very good. You should also try this. Open your windows explorer and go into your WOW folder. Right click your WTF folder and pick properties. Uncheck the semi-grey read only attribute and click okay.

even though i explicitly saved my profiles?

That could be a limitation on the mods itself. Some mods enact global changes whereas others do it per character. Things like SWStats I've noticed is per character but CyCircled isn't. If I make a border color change in Cy, it changes for all toons I have.

Pippit, it seems that your client is crashing on exit. I had this problem for a while running WoW with wine on Linux. Eventually they fixed the problem, and once I downloaded the new version of wine, the problem was solved. You should wipe your addons directory as well as your savedvariables directory. If that doesn't work, try reinstalling WoW, as there might be a corrupted file or something somewhere. Or, if you run WoW with wine, update wine.

Before wiping out the addons folder and the savedvariables, copy them to a safe place. If wow continues to misbehave, you won't have lost all your settings and addons.
