Why can't i open up the addon zipped folder for an action bar i just downloaded?

Could be the file type. Try DLing WinRAR. Most addons are packed in .rar format.

It can be that the file was corrupted... better re-download it! i has it too...

Just the opposite, most addons are not in .rar but in .zip. If you have Windows from XP and on then you have a built in compressed file handler. You should be able to right click the file and select "extract all...".

ywah but when i click extract all what do i extract? for it says there is nothing to extract to me?

For MS Windows:

You click "manual install" from the AddOn's Curse page, download the file, and the included extractor will pick up that you are downloading a zip file.

Once that extractor engages, click "Extract All" from the left-hand column, select the path to your WoW AddOns folder, ala ..\WorldofWarcraft\Interface\AddOns, and then click "OK" or "start". 

You will then have a bit of a pause, while the files are being extracted, and then the interface will ask if you want to see the extracted files or close, simply choose Close.

At that point, open WoW, go to the Character Selection Screen and click the "AddOns" button in the lower left.  That will open the main WoW AddOns Control Panel, from where you ensure that all of the AddOns you want to run have gold check marks in their box.
