I'm sure some of you will flame me for saying this but I really think women playing wow is like guys watching soaps. Think about it, most of the guys out there watching soaps are a lil feminine & the girls I have come across that play wow are a lil masculine. Women generally watch soaps while the men are at work and while guys play wow the woman should be cooking/cleaning right? [b]JK/b

Seriously though my daughter has been pissed all summer cause I let her older brothers play wow longer then I let her. Maybe im just old fashioned but I really don’t want my daughter addicted to video games though it doesn’t bother me so much that her brothers are. Am I wrong about this and should I let her play wow as much as her brothers do??..i just don’t know....

This is about the most absurd reasoning for restricting game play I've ever heard. Why would you feel as though it's justified in maintaining an unfair double standard for your daughter and sons? If your daughter wants to become a total mmorpg geek let her so long as it doesn't affect her schoolastic preformance.

Lmao typical MALE thinking...im going to say im sorry to those MEN that are not gender restricted for this post. i happen to be a 46 year old FEMALE happily married hold down a full time job AND clean and cook on a daily basis and im a total wow gamer with multiple 60+ toons. My husband plays my children (ages 21 & 24) both girls also play. We have turned so many friends onto the game we had to create a guild and believe me its not just the husbands that play. So bring your head out of the dark ages dad and let the girl play as long as her school and chores do not suffer which should be the standard for the boys too. Its the cheapest family entertainment i have found so far.

I'm a 24 year old woman, my husband plays too. During day i'm at home BUT i don't touch wow, cuz i take care of our 1,5 years old son AND clean and cook.
After son goes to bed we both play wow. Both have multiple 70's and mid 50 levels.
Its our way of relaxing, cuz we dont go out much with the kid. We met alot of nice ppl on the game. And some of them coming over to where we live. Gonna be like a guildmeeting irl.

And for the double standard; shame on u. U shouldnt treat her that way, she has equal rights to do what she wants.

bit sad mate i have let my two daughters 6 and 4 play ( 6 year old has a level 12 rogue undead )4 year old has a gnome mage pink hair and all ) they love it and i wouldnt ever think of stopping them if your being honest and not just looking for attention then learn to deal with your issues dont push your problems on your kids .

i think letting daughters play as much as sons is something that should be a given.

however, i kind of have a problem with a 4-year old playing...maybe even a 6-year old...

i hope you're at least monitoring them while they play...not everyone on WoW is all that nice, and I (as an adult) have a hard time dealing with some of the personalities I encounter, I can't even imagine dealing with that as a 4 year old.

god yes they in my guild and they take good care of them and the gnome is normaly sitting on my knee she isnt great at reading yet so i just dont tell her anything nasty i monitor them when they online all the time and never let them play unless im there

My opinion......not only is he still living in the dark ages, but man, that's a bit on the sexist side as well. If your daughter wants to play, LET HER PLAY. Give her the same treatment you give her brothers. If anything, look at it as a common ground for something for you and your daughter to talk about.

I've seen a few posts from my fellow FEMALE WoW players, and it sounds to me that us women are just as capable of playing as you men are. I'm female (obviously), take care of my 5 yr old and 3 yr old during the day and they are both VERY active, take care of my husband when he gets home from work, and I still manage to have a lvl 70 Blood Elf Paladin who happens to be a Guild Leader as well. So don't sit there and make comments that us women should just be cooking and cleaning. Catch up to modern times.

Of course, she fails to mention that it was her husband that helped start the guild, and now the responsibility is shared amongst 5 players in the game.

Confining your daughter eh? See, there are many "excuses" that could easily make this little subject real and reasonable, yet you add that you let your boys play more then your daughter, hah. I truly find it funny when i am playing WoW and a girl pops up, then the boys get all riled up as if its weird. I am married to a WoW player, who if it wasn't for college, would most likely play more then I do, but the people in this thread that express their reasoning for this "out right act against females," need to realize that were moving into a different age. If you want to push a subject and make yourself known and aware, just continue to play the game, and beat the crap out of every cross-gender guy who thinks its ok to play a female character.

To follow that last fact, most of the reason were suprised that girls play is because (as a guy who had this...alot) the ridicule in school/life you would recieve for this inconvience of a "life," and the TRUE fact that the majority of players on female chars, are actually men; thus the fact of a woman behind the mask is kind of, how should I say it...spectacular? lol..

Anyway to end my rant, this post is stupid and i just want my post count for my little essay i just wrote on the jusitifcation of both men and women, and how being on just one side is stupid. >.<
