Hi,
Every time (several times a day) when I try to visit curse.com I need to login with my account, even though the username/password are saved and present on the login page.
After that, I need to set my theme as well every single time.
I have this on every computer I use (work, home workstation and laptop).
All using Firefox (under Windows XP, Vista and Mac OS X 10.5.1).
I already cleared the cookies for this site, but that doesn't seem to help.
I've been having this for a couple of weeks now, and it's starting to get really annoying.
Is there anything known about this or am I the only one?

Hmm it's fairly likely you're not the only one since I've seen this question asked before. I'll forward it to our internal bug tracking system.

Can you check your privacy settings? I believe Firefox will show an icon (in the status bar somewhere) if it blocks a cookie. Also, try removing all cookies from the curse.com domain (you can do this with certain addons, such as the web developer toolbar), or just wipe cookies in general.

I'm using Firefox also, but not blocking any cookies as far as I can tell.
The Curse.com cookies I have are :
curse
_utmz
_qcb
_utmc
_utma
_qca
_utmb
_gads
I'll try deleting 'em and get back to you in a couple of days maybe....

As far as I can tell in Firefox in Mac OS X it doesn't show any icons. There isn't even a status bar that I know of...
I will check later on my windows machine what I can see in the status bar there.

Well, deleted my cookies to try and reset things - and today, I've come back to the site 3 times, and had to login and reset the theme all 3 times :(

On my Windows machine now, and for some reason I didn't have to login and set the theme.
And checking on the Mac it wants me to login again...

Having to relog here using IE 7...though it seems to be more a once-a-day kinda thing (have not investigated much). Have cleared all cookies - no help there.

This problem appears to be fixed for me ..... how about other people ?
Has there been a fix applied to the web site ?
If not, and if the problem still seems fixed for me tomorrow, then I'll post the outline of my solution.

Same behavior for me. XP XP2, Firefox 2.0.0.10. Cookies are created but apparently don't save between sessions. I have manually deleted cookies/cache and tried, but every time I visit the site I have to log in again.
And also, I've noticed that it takes me at least 2 times to log in. I put in my username/pw and click login, it goes right back to the login page (and i'm not logged in). I put in username/pw again, click login and it finally logs me in. I stay logged in until I close the browser and visit the site again.
I am not using any part of Firefox's security features that clears cache/cookies on browser close, and i have no addons that do anything similar.
This has been happening for probably 2 weeks now.
It happened in the past, but whatever the problem was, was fixed in a few days without me posting about it so I figured the same would happen this time :)

I also have to log in all the time for the last 1-2 weeks now and it is very annoying. I don't even close my browser (windows xp sp2/firefox 2.0.0..8 running 24/7) so that can't be the reason. It seems as if an auto-logout option has been enabled or changed to about 2 hours or so (haven't measured the time that has to pass before I have to log in again).

Yup, login at least once a day using both microsoft and apple systems.
My fix was non-technical, I just come back less and less frequently.

Can I ask if Curse is somehow associating the IP Address with the Login details ?
I noticed that after I logged in from a different PC at a different site, then I needed to re-log when I came back home and tried to open Curse from my Laptop again .... ?

We don't associate a login with an IP address -- but if you switch computers you will have to login again as you will no longer have the session information available.
We are currently looking into the issue which is causing users to get logged out.

Sorry, I was a bit confused by that.
I don't expect to have to re-log in to this site on my home PC, just because I have logged in to this web site on another PC in the interim.
To be clear, I'm NOT talking about trying to log in from 2 different PCs at the same time. I always turn my PCs off completely when I finish.
I don't have to log back in to other sites, just because I logged in to them from another PC BETWEEN my sessions at home.
So are you saying that you are also looking in to this issue, and that I can expect not to have to keep logging in for this reason ? (Again, I don't care about the case of trying to log in from multiple PCs concurrently.)
When it comes to web sites, I'm just a simple end-user. I'm not aware of what the technical definition of a "session" is exactly.

Is the logging in problem possibly responsible for the error that keeps popping up from the icon in my task bar tray? Something about "wrong login & password, is your account activated?" Everything is correct and my account has been activated.

this could related to authenticated sessions in firefox.
in Tools | Options | Privacy, then under the section "Private Data", the is a checkbox for clearing private data when you close firefox. If this is checked, then click the "Settings" button, and uncheck the "Authenticated Sessions" item.
