What do YOU believe will be the next expansion for the ever so famous World of Warcraft?
EDIT: Link and some text removed due to it being unreleased content as of right now. You're more than welcome to theorycraft on the possible expansion though. -Kody

Pffft, more expansions my butt. I'm still working on this one ;p
Although yeah, it'd be sweet to see the inside of the emerald dream. I'm a druid at heart.
Popular speculation also says that the wintery wonderland from WC3 could be making an appearance too, since in the 2.1PTR data files a few items were found that'd fit in there. Oh such fun it'd be to kick Arthas in the nuts ;p

It was probably a single persons speculation that suggested murlocs and ogres would be the new races with a new faction of wisps ;p

I'm sure a wisp racial would be "Transforms you into a nightelf on death, slowing your movement speed by 25%"

Weird that none mentioned Northrend (someone did, but it seemed that he didn't know the name of it). I mean, its got to be Northrend.
The Nerubians ftw

Jarlaxle is probably right. Emerald Dream is in play, devs have mentioned they have plans for it, however, progression wise Arathas seems a more logical follow-up after the death of Archimonde (past), and Illidan.
Arathas defeated Illidan, which where Illidan failed Kil'Jaeden, the greatest of the Eredar, and ran off to Outland. Which would follow the ideal each subsequent boss should be greater than the previous, not only in difficulty but also in lore perspective. This would also add in a chance to tie in Malygos, through the Dragonblight (Link http://www.wowwiki.com/The_Dragonblight) and the Nexus Fortress (Link http://www.wowwiki.com/Nexus). Which would tie up the free ends of the Dragon Aspects leaving only Deathwing. As also Jarlaxle has stated the Nerubians are there. Really Northrend right now has a lot of really good potiential.
But what you have to realize with the Emerald Dream is, it is the source of creation, it is the neo-christian equal to being right there watching God at work....And it's also corrupted. Out of all the great beings that you would assume are powerful enough to touch something that powerful, there remains only 2....Kil'Jaeden, who convienantly has been partially out of the picture lately with the exception of the Doomwalker, and the Dark Titan, Sageras.
Now historically it's persumed Sageras died along with Medivh, however, I would be more likely to persume a being of Sageras power would not simply just die. I would be more likely to believe he found a way through Medivh to transcend to the emerald plain.
The only other unanswered storylines that I could envision between here and there would be Grim Batol, some of the "Titan Vaults", which 1 is located in Northrend, and finally the Maelstorm home of the Demigod, Azshara, who was corrupted by Kil'Jaeden.
Cliffnotes: Northrend and Arathas and/or Maelstorm with Azshara, then Kil'jaeden and Emerald dream finally ending the World of Warcraft in defeating Dark Titan Sageras.
Note: I am not a dev and this is not insider info, I'm just a guy with a lot of time on his hands and really good imagination for what I think would be an exciting future for WoW.

Now if you want my personal vision, I saw we defeat Arathas and learn that he was secretly working against Kil'Jaeden and Sageras who are trapped in the emerald dream....Which then we discover at the begining of the next patch the goblins in the maelstorm have found a rip from the original Well of Eterenity leading directly to the Emerald Plain, which happens to be where Azshara has placed her lair.

Yeah - I did forget the name of Northrend. Memory like a sieve at times ;p
"finally ending the World of Warcraft in defeating Dark Titan Sageras"
Would be very, very cool to take on someone so powerful, but it'd also mean the end of the warcraft line and lots of people keeping their £9 a month so I can't see Blizzard doing it. I even have reservations about Arthas appearing when we get a Northrend expansion since he's the top of the scourge ladder, but at the same time he *was* playable in previous warcraft games so I can see sense in making him a boss - just not the next line up.
Beyond Northrend and the Emerald Dream I think there'd be a few more novels out to create new places before they started clutching at straws and throwing in the big guys.

Arthas... what ever happened to him ? I didn't play WoW much so I don't know what was going on with him in the meantime. I am assuming he wasn't even mentioned ?
This is why Northrend is a viable option

Aye he's not really mentioned in WoW. Buggered off to Northrend in WC3, took over the scourge and never came back.

Most of the response toward why Arthas isn't in the game yet was because of how powerful he is. This is a major reason that I'm surprised Illidan dies in the game's first expansion. Granted, he isn't near the level of power Arthas is at, but he's still a very powerful character in Warcraft lore.

I guess they had to throw in one of the big names just to make sure people were hooked on it. I'm telling you, if we ever have to take on the aspects or the titans I'm out of here ;p

Actually Arathas is heard speaking to KT in Naxx telling him how he's a loyal servent and then how he needs to handle this breach of his security (namely the 40 people coming to loot him).
And really to think about it logically, The dragon aspects are not far off from what's been faced. We've defeated both Deathwings kids, Onyxia and Nefarion. Deathwing for a time was pretty much the most powerful aspect with the aid of a certain little trinket.

Ahh, never got to see the end of Naxx before TBC came out and everyone lost interest so I missed out on that one :(
I can live with taking out the aspects family, afterall they only have a fraction of the power of the aspect themselves but if we ever had to take on deathwing I'd cry. Given that it took all the other aspects collective power to force him to retreat, not even defeat him, the thought of 25 random "heros" going and slaughtering him would be enough to make me reach for the delete button ;p

Lol, I try not to^^, but the thought of being slowed down on death makes it terrible to die in lets say, the west end of Un'Goro xD
Besides, I really doubt that the Wisps could be druids ;)

If you leave a gold bar in your backpack long enough it'll be compressed into gold foil which you can use to make an epic tinfoil hat.
You can put a heavy stone in the bag slot immediately above it to speed up the process.

the next expansion they need to make a water world and give us water mounts so we can swim at super speed and stuff, also they can have floating cities and underwater gankage!!! woot plus those alchemists would make a fourtune on those waterbreathing potions, alliance could have stingray mounts and horde could have sharks (cuz alliance always gets jipped on the mounts except for the elekk woot)
that would be fun but it has nothing to do with the story line... lol
