Omen - Why is there so many updates?

My raid has a hard time keeping up with all the updates of Omen. Can someone tell me WHY there are so many?

I can imagine *right* after a patch, there would be a lot, but even now, it seems to be updated every couple of hours.

What would be the benefits or losses of all of us having one version of Omen, and not updating until a new WoW patch comes out?

I'd say the developer is releasing every time he fixes a bug... seems more suitable to a 'development' release of an app, rather than a 'production' release.

But I won't stick my nose where it doesn't belong, it's a killer addon and so long as it updates, I will continue to as well.

Due to the new patch there just has to be many releases. Taking a few minutes each day to install a new version shouldn't take up too much time :). As time goes by, the releases should hopefully slow down.

Gylieth: This patch is an abnormality for an AddOn such as Omen. It introduced many substantial changes to the core systems Omen uses to function, such as the combat log. Because of this Antiarc is hard at work (and has been for quite some time now) updating Omen, as well as creating a new version that will perform even better and offer more features than were previously possible.

Please bear with him -- it's going to be an incredible AddOn once he's done with it. (Or at least done with this version of it!)

You dont need every update!

Update every week and everything is fine.

Zghuk, exactly. Just because the addon gets updated doesn't mean you have to rush to update yourself. If you aren't haven problems with the addon, there probably isn't anything beneficial to you in most minor updates.
