1000 patches IS beta, it defines beta. Beta, incomplete, overpriced. You are saying that wow was beta to start also, this is irrelevant, whatever.
I have much experience with FC (f the customer) from Anarchy, I can tell you whats going to happen with AoC. They will smooth out some of the things which should have been done before release, then they will randomly poke at the code now and then, mostly ignoring the users comments on the forums, and at best, choosing a lame solution rather than the one bumped up 1000 times.
It's too bad FC takes a lame approach to customer service. I'd still be playing Anarchy today if it weren't for the clunky interface. Anarchy is a much much better game than Wow or Aoc, but they refuse to fix the interface bugs. Wow was a huge relief from the nonsense, a smooth interface, great graphics, addons to enhance the game like no other has ever done. But I got tired of the constant code mangling, screwing up the addons, hokey new area's, rep grinding to get one item. The biggest issue with wow is there's no player / guild city, nothing to fight for as a group.
I bet your shoes have no soles, but you are ok with them, because the manufacturer is still working on it. Maybe next patch...
Combat IS too keyboard intensive. The extra keypress system to perform attacks is workable, but to adjust your defenses at the same time? Ridiculous.
Once the initial investments in AoC are drained, the support will equal Anarchy and wow, game over.
Maybe War will get it right.
