I'm not gonna buy GW2. GW is good as it is. The only thing thats gonna be new in 2 is the jumping thing and you can be some other that just humans. Cant remember what though. I think that they should just keep on going with the expansions... would be better for them. I think the sales would drop when number 2 comes out....

True, it is going to be a lot like WoW... Or many other MMOs for that matter.
I think what they're trying to do is take GW and improve on what they have.
If they didn't have the division in races it would be harder to incorporate PvP into the world, rather than set zones in the original. The added aspect of jumping, swimming and sliding (yay!) means that they can make the world more explorable than the original which was slightly limited. Also, the higher level cap will mean that people who found the cap at 20 a turn off, will stay interested in the game for longer. The incredible graphics that we have all come to expect from GW will be a major plus as well, there aren't a lot of games out there that can compare with the sheer beauty of the GW world.
I'm not saying that it will be better than the original by any means, I love that game and I don't think there has been anything quite as amazing since. But GW2 will appeal to a wider audience, and keep more people interested too. I'm bloody excited about it!

why not just make an expansion for GW and just keep going the xpansion could do all of gw2 and add races and crap. i doubt i buy2 since i dont play it alot...i play wow but still least when i do everythings right there to play

im buying it to try it, if i dont like then i dont play it easy as that, quit being pests

i dont think they are being pests, maybe harsh on a game that hasn't come out yet but I do see them having a lot to lose and little to gain from GW2...

Also for all that wonder why they dont do the expansion thing, they had made the game so lowbie friendly, 2 expansions just for lowbies, and then EOTN was supposed to be their little extension off to a brand new world type thing. I don't think they really know or are afraid to release new content for higher levels because they have the chance of making all of the players mad at once. Not that they have a monthly fee to worry about getting from us but still they want you to stick around and buy the rest of the games once they come out so they want to keep you happy.

erk. they should just keep up new expansions, some of which improve it so it "looks like WoW" so people can keep the characters they worked so hard on -.- i have 6 lv 20s on GW so i don't intend to buy GW2, they should seriously just make expansions to upgrade that stuff or make it so you can transfer characters from GW to GW2 or an expansion for that or something -.-

i started with guild wars because of the story and the dynamic and chalenging style of play . if they change to much it will eventualy destroy the game or even the entire sereies . I have also played world of warcraft both ganes have there ups and downs guild wars only real difficult part i have noticed is the lack of diverse charchters aside from just humans. but since that is being fixed i guess that is a non issue. my issue with world of warcraft is the complete lack of any kind of plot.

Gears of War 2 hasn't come out yet but the hype around this years E3 was almost as big as last year's Halo 3. Which will be the all-time best when it's all said and done? And, if you only had enough cash in your pocket to buy one...give it up...which one do you fire up for a good kill session?

lets think about this.....so it a WoW clone with the guild wars story and graphic's (which are better than wow in my opinon. if u think about it the scenery look like a work of art and is quite beautiful.) and NO MONTHLY FEE. hmm...ok ill give it a try

Are you seriously saying that having a few 20's is a reason not to buy GW2? Contact me, I can powerlevel you to 20 in a few hours (if you get triple experiance scrolls), it's really not that hard.

In my opinion, one of the significant weaknesses of Guild wars was the level of diversity of item characteristics., to the extent that most same armor set rarely have uniform properties or plus. It’s good that MMOs have such diversity, but I guess guildwars had exaggerated it to much.
