The wizard was jsut released as a new class on diablo3.com

Agreed. The skills they've shown so far really reminds me of the D&D Wizard class only not so fragile. Slow Time, Disintegrate, Magic Missile :)
If there's a Haste skill we'll be set :)

From what I have seen in the diablo3 website, is that there are currently 3 classes. I'm paricularly curious about the "witch doctor" character. He looks exactly like the last boss in Warcraft 3 campaign. lolz.
I hope they would create more character classes compared to Diablo 2 so that I can play them all as well in the single player campaign. I will update you guys if there is any announcements from Diablo 3 website.

cant wait to play the game, also intrigued by the witch doctor class. the preview of the skill with the voo doo on top of the witch doctor. i guess it's like the grim ward of the barb class in dII

Unfortunately, the Paladin class will not be making a comeback as a playable character in the game. Blizzard stated back in August that Only The Barbarian Will Return In Diablo III.

Thus far, four of five official classes have been announced, and one class has been "announced" as an April Fools joke. The only character returning to the Diablo series as a playable character will be the Barbarian, as seen here.

Oh, are you talking about the Archivist? That Wiki page is not completed yet, but the Archivist is an April Fools Joke, he is not the 5th class.
