mine is just siting on the retreving cariter list

Having same prob.  Finally got past the hang on the retrieving character part, now the blue bar loads all the way and sits there, ENDLESSLY

It gets all the way to the end and then just sits there endlessly. I disabled ALL mods and it still does the same things.

I would post this on the WoW forums, but they are FUBAR right now...

I am glad its not just me.

When I ran the update it asked to move my game folder to users\public. I deleted all mods. But still having issue.  So I wasn't sure if it freaked out on moving the game folder.

I am getting all kinds of Hangs too.

Tried renaming my addon folder, disabling all addons, to see if that would help... but no

I suspect the Blizzard forums are being swamped hence our inablilty to get on them..

Can't reach utility belt

i've been able to login on Eonar, not anymore though. was cool seeing stormwind harbor.  you can enter it between the cathedral area and park, it butts right up to where the canal ends.

Oh and Herbalists get the ability to summon flowers. how pritty. glad i pay blizzard or this downtime might take longer then 6:00pm pdt... wait what time is it?

Managed to connect to US Earthen Ring, teleported to Stormwind and hung on the "progress" bar... I don't think I'm looking at talents tonight.

Everything does in fact appear to be down. You can't connect to the news server, the authentication server, nada. And it's not like they have a basic website up anywhere to tell us what's going on.

I LOL'ed when the link the game gave me when it said it couldn't connect, couldn't connect either:

You know, I can completely understand that stuff happens on patch day, especially a big patch like this one. However to not even have a website up or some sort of communication with your millions of customers is just downright poor planning. There is no excuse for keeping your customers in the dark as to what is going on, especially since this is not the first of second occurence of this situation with WoW happening...

Mounts are now spells in your spell book, not bag slots... that's why they are gone.

Yep, same here.

On Earthen Ring I got on for about 5 minutes. Trying to get on a mount would just hang, portals weren't working for anyone as shatt had hundreds at the portals just sitting there, couldn't logout, and then it crashed again.

The problem isn't your addons. Talked to my friends and family, many of which have refrained from using addons and they haven't been able to get past the loading screens yet.

It appears that now the login / authentication servers are now off-line. The realm status site is off-line, the support website is off-line. They are experiencing major issues at the moment

They're now back up, albeit with issues, but now you should be able to get in.

just wait till you get into the game.  for some reason i cant buy or sell stuff.  my pets and mounts are missing from the pet tab.  my chat bar is white and all the text is white.  ohh and noone can port anywhere, and i cant log out

its blizzard all they care about is the money.  that is way all their fat asses are at blizzcon

wouldnt they assume that there would be an extremely large run on every site they support? technical page, realm status obviously, servers to actually log on...you'd think they would have compensated for that obvious fact and been more prepared for this.
