If you're doing something wrong, then so am I...  I've been getting the same message for a while now, but I'm not having any issues with the web site or these forums.  ???

P.S. I've noticed a few posts regarding this issue in different areas of the forums.

I just downloaded it a few minutes ago and it gave me the same message. I was hoping it was a simple server issue and not a bad download. I was really looking forward to installing a few addons. Oh well, hopefully they'll get it sorted out soon.

i guess you all go through a proxy server to connect to the internet.

afaik proxy servers aren't supported by CC yet.

yea, same error for me here.  Going to try on my friends net tomorrow possibly, will update if its any different there.  But yea, i really wish ace updater wasnt discontinued, because most of curse's addons that i just downloaded that said they were 3.0 patch, are out of date! yay!

hi,

nor am i connected thru a proxy, neither did i do ANY changes to my PC's settings. i simply cannot connect my CC to Curse-server: "an unknown error occured contacting the server".

How can i get the old version again? with the old version i had to do the same i have to do now: manually update my addons.

did anybody do a pretesting with this tool before it was released?

been getting the same thing all night. even re-installed client twice. earlier this evening i was able to log in and update my addons then in the middle of updating client froze and i had to reboot pc. thats when i started getting the error message. i uninstalled client then re-installed it and kept getting error, so i did the process over again and still kept getting the error. then i logged onto website and checked the forums and seen that everyone else is having the same problem.

Agreed - I did a bunch of updates around 10-11 pm EST but when I tried to log in again around 2am, it wasn't working. It's probably just temporary, I'd guess.

So far, I like the curse client. It's not as full featured as the old JWoWupdater but I can work with it.

Windows Vista users, with new patch WoW folder is moved from Program Files to Public Folder.  The client originally installed to Program Files where old WoW folder was & kept getting error.  I uninstalled curse & reinstalled to the new WoW folder in the Public Folder & everything worked fine.

Hope this helps.
