It won't take off old addons

I am having the same issue, also getting errors when trying to install the new curse client to get the new mods....tried several different things but to no avail.

Ok, so since wow is now the big 3.0 series. I went to delete the old addons like I always do in order to download new ones. This time when I go into wow, it won't take off the old ones and show the new ones. It still shows the old ones being there and being out of date. I'm really frustrated and I can't live without quest helper.

Did you go to worldofwarcraft/interface/addons and delete EVERYTHING, cept blizzUI whatevers.

Then go to your WTF, go to saved variables, and do the same.

RESTART WOW. and see if its still a problem. if it is, go back to those folders, and see if you missed anything.

Personally, i made a copy of my WTF, and Interface folders. then just deleted everything inside, to wait for my addons to update.

All that is gone. the interface, wtf folders have been deleted.

Logged into wow, logged out.

start curse client, says i have addons that i have never installed

So i delete the files in C:\Documents and Settings\Bjorn\Local Settings\Application Data\CurseClient , excet for the DLL

Download and install a bunch of addons from Curse.com and restart the client.

Nothing new is in the list and it wont get currently installed addons

Using an automatic download link, such as psyn://addonservice.curse.com/AddOnService.asmx/GetAddOn?pAddOnId=89  , loads the addon in the curse client.

Obviously, Curse is forcing users to install addons automaticly so that they're "known" to the client, instead of doing a simple directory scan.

I'm having the same problem. I have deleted everything, including the wtf file and still see all the old addons in the game. I'm not very tech savy so this is really frustrating. Is my only option to re-intsall the whole game?

if you are on windows vista go to mydocuments then public folder then games then world of warcraft then interface then addons.. you can remove from there.. blizz set up an alternate routing because they actually havent fully released the patch yet.. its in a sorta temp folder untill they get the bugs worked out.. I have removed all old addons an added new ones but once you turn them on an log in they one dont work at all or have errors.. an when you go back to the list of addons from the character select screen they will either be turned off or on but inactive do to what ever blizz has done.. i myself havent figured out how to activate them to stay on..

I have Vista w/sp1 and unfortunately there is no games folder under public, is that on Vista Home edition?

*edit* I found them, I have Vista Enterprise, the add-ons are located under users\public\public downloads\world of warcraft\interface\addons

thanks!

*edit again* unfortunately that folder doesn't do anything either. all my addons are still there (even though i deleted everything out of the folders), so i'm still at a loss here. anyone else have vista enterprise and have your addons working?
