One of the best WoW mods in my personal opinion is map notes, is there anyway to do this in Warhammer, where I can create a temporary dot/pin on the world map by doing a /mapnote 10,38 and looking on world map and seeing some type of icon at that exact location?

Even making a permanent note using the mouse on the world map would be fine, although the above is preferred.

This makes it so easy when reading about a quest on a site and it giving the loc of a mob/item punching that in to make sure I'm on right track.

Based on what I know of LibSurveyor and Surveyor, it should be possible.  I would suggest contacting the author of those mods as he probably knows more about that sort of thing than most people (I certainly don't know much).

so does surveyor provide a coordinate system on the main screen?  right now the only way I know of to see the coordinates is to go to the big map and move the mouse about...I want to retain that ability, but also have the ability to show my current location coordinates on my main screen, preferably in small numbers next to my mini-map.  will surveyor provide this?  if not, does anyone know what will?

Surveyor does not but SimpleXY does.  The only problem I've encountered with SimpleXY is, starting a few patches ago, the coordinate position on the minimap seems to reset (to an odd location) every time the UI is loaded (requiring me to do /simplexy minimap default).
