Squig Herder Action Bar ranged/melee switcher request

Is it possible to have action bar 1 swap with another (bar5 for example) dependant on whether in ranged or Melee combat? I have so many ranged attacks that I have had to push my melee ones to another bar, which I find is a bit of a pain to get to when opponents are popping in and out of ranged attack to melee.

 

I imagine this could be done, as the herder automatically switches between his bow or stabba if targetting someone and they change between ranged and melee distances. I would prefer action bar 1 to be ranged, and the secondary for melee. Also if it onyl switched that one bar would be ideal as opposed to the whole lot.

Configuarble options such as which bar to switch, and maybe reverse them for those herders that are melee default. I would be happy if it just did the default though, and could work with that quite happily  :)

I do not think this is currently possable, as TargetInfo does not contain any data on how far away your target is. 

If someone knows some other way of getting the distance between the player and the current target let me know and I'll add this functionality to my HotbarFun addon.

 

EDIT: it just occured to me that I might be able to check if a melee ablity is usable... a posable work around. I will look into it for you when I have some spare time.
