Please STOP!!!

PLEASE STOP KILLING THE MARKET!!!!!!!!

Please read this and think of it next time your going to post bronze bar at 2 Gold a Stack, or Silver bar at 50 Silver, or silk at 20 silver....

I keep getting screwed from people destroying markets! 1 Gold a stack for Silk Cloth is a good price or 1 Gold 25 Silver but then you guys post 4 stacks for say 80 silver and it starts a chain reaction and then boom silk is only 40 Silver a stack for 3 days! Now I am just a normal seller not a farmer, just sell what i get while questing I get back and cant sell it for a good price to pay for stuff I need. Hope you guys remember this low prices can kill markets. Just be smart if silk is at 1 gold 25 silver a stack just post 1 gold 20 silver, yours will get bought first you make more money and we all stay happy.

Also farmers..... people that bot farm every night and then post super low making us lower people go poor.... GO GET HIT BY A 18 WHEELER!!!!!!!!

Thanks for reading

Directed at the Alliance Players or mannoroth, but i am sure its like this on every server....

This is very common on just about every single server.  The same could be said for the enchanting market when people are selling enchants for WAY less than the cost of Mats because they farm a lot.  Just take it with a grain of salt and watch the market for a good chance to sell.

One of my favorites is when people post Netherweave on the AH for less than you can vendor the Heavy Netherweave Bandages for.  More than once I have bought up a bunch of Netherweave, turned it into bandaids, and made a profit.

EDIT: Another thing I typically do, and I don't know if you have the gold resources to do it, is to control a comodity.  More than once I have gone to put something on the AH and noticed 5 or 6 other auctions that were WAY under the market value.  I buy up those auctions and post them right back up there myself.  You have to keep up to date with what is in demand on the server and look for things you can make a good amount of money on.

Right now Silk Cloth is one of the best actually.  Not only do people need it for Tailoring and Bandaids among other Trade Skills but people need TONS of Silk Cloth to Repair their Booty Bay Rep after they farm for the Bloodsail Admiral title.

Well I have enough to totally buy out a market (did it with bronze) but I am on a High Pop server and it seems like I cant keep buying it up, I mean I bougt up 20 stacks the other day for 3G a stack Before the market died I was making 6 Gold a stack so I sold some of it but by the morning there was another huge anount of bronze that I couldnt afford to buy so after 5 days of waiting for the market to recover I just sold for what I paid (lost money from fees).

You will never make money by buying out the market on easily farmable mats like bronze. You need to do it with items that are in high demand but not readily available. You will find that you will always be undepriced, even to a loss, as long as people need quick cash. And why not underprice the competition? Items that are farmable will always have a very wide price gap one day to the next.

See my "Thread to end all threads thread" for the answer to your question!

It all depends on how much of a pain farming something might be.  It is easy to farm Silk but a lot of people don't feel like taking the time to do it.

Runecloth is also really easy to farm but people just don't feel like killing stuff at Tyr's Hand for hours on end anymore.  With the Rep Achievements people buy the stuff up like crazy.

Metal is really difficult because it is so easy to farm.  The only metal that is reliable is Silver and Truesilver because they are totally random.  The ore sells better than the bars because people like to use the ore to level mining.

Twink items (19,29,39 etc.) are always a great market.  You can snag a pair of level 19 leather pants of agility off the AH for a few gold if you are quick and throw them back up for 40g and watch them sell.  Even if you get stuck putting up an item multiple times it's not too bad because the deposit is so low.  With the new BoA items this will lessed the marketability of this stuff but I am sure it will continue to sell at some level.

The best one is Furious Crawdads.  Mr Pinchy freaking hates me with all of his Furious soul and I have found that I can make quite a bit of gold farming those lakes in Terrokar.  Some day I will get my Mr. Pinchy but until WOTLK comes out people will keep buying my Golden Darter and Furious Crawdads.

Playing the AH is like playing stocks.  You have to take chances and sometimes you get stuck taking a loss but if you make smart decisions your losses will outpace your gains by a great deal.

The auctionhouses are the WoW equivalent of the stock market in some ways.  Prices WILL fluctuate, sometimes to your benefit, sometimes not.  That's the nature of things.  That is also why prices fluctuate between servers, because supply and demand is not uniform across all servers.  You can post your rant in as many forums as you wish, but it will not change the mechanics of the markets.
