Its a waste of drive space if u ask me and makes it harder to find the good new ones. Alot of the ratings are based on old WOW so i cant find any new good ones. Anyhow update most of your addons ppl how much longer do i have to wait?

Some pre Wrath addons most certainly work without any issues so removing all of the older addons will cause a lot of grief.

This questions gets asked every single time there is a patch and the same answer is always given.  There are a lot of out of date addons and while a lot of them still do work some that don't just haven't had any love.  It is possible that somebody could come along to a dead addon and say "You know what, I could update that" and do so.  It's also entirely possible that the original author could be busy and just hasn't gotten around to updating it yet.

Private servers can run a certain patch for a lot longer than public realms do, so it's always nice for these people to be able to use the older AddOns for a little longer.

There's a page with only AddOns that have been confirmed to work with the latest release, so just use that?

Yeah, I use priv servers because i'm too poor for retail, so I want to keep my addons

I'm going to close this thread before it degrades into something we can't allow here.  Curse does not and will never support private servers for World of Warcraft; it breaks the EULA and ToS of the game and Blizzard actively seeks out these servers to shut them down.

This is absolutely not the reason why we keep older Addon versions around.
