Well, gatherer can keep track of any nodes that you mine and you may be able to find a preloaded data base, but otehr than this you cant just see every ore that is currently active.

I use Gathermate, and Cartographer ^_~ no offense to Gatherer's creator (*ducks*) they have made a great addon, but I prefer the look of gathermate, and the usuability of it. You can also upload WoW (Blizz) node information, and info from Cartographer from it, so it's quite handy and you don't need to have visited it before to see where the nodes would be. This works for both mining and herb, gases, fish, all of it. Hope this helps :)
