When im questing i feel like im just walking past mining nodes, is there an addon that will make a sound or notify you when the nodes are displayed on your mini map?

No there is not addon that can do this. It isnt possible. Dont ask me why but it isnt. You can use Cartogapher_Mining (which I hear is currently out of commison in Northrend) or Gatherer. these both remembe the location of node that you have mined before and can show them on you minimap and regular map.

oh thanks! I actually was wondering if there was a cart_mining...I have the herb one, because my main is an herb...but I've been enjoying my DK so much, that I really do need to get the mining one for her.

And I use Gathermate, vs Gatherer...both great progs, just wanted to offer another awesome solution

Is it impossible to do this due to the inability to run true if/then commands? I'd assume the sound clip would be rather easy. I'm just curious, I've wondered the same thing. It would be much easier flying around farming while watching a movie rather than staring at that d@mn mini map the entire time. lol

Why does this have to be hard. I'm sure this kind of addon would make mining/herbalism much more enjoyable for a lot of people, and the last time I looked, a game is supposed to feel enjoyable. It's not supposed to feel like work.

Why should it be enjoyable? There is a reason that not everyone takes a gathering profession. It 'is' supposed to feel like work. This isn't "Hello Kitty Island Adventure"

all i gotta say is....carebear.... Quit complaining and play the game =D Farming is suppose to be tedious if it wasn't the economy would be all whacky.

Where's the beef?

I know this is an older thread, but just to bring you guys up to speed: Cartographer_Mining, Fishing, Herbalism, etc, have ALL been replaced by GatherMate. The author wisely decided that information should be available for any map, not just Cartographer. Made it easier to update and maintain, as well.

Gatherer: mining, herbalism, treasure

GatherMate: mining, herbalism, treasure, fish, gas clouds

Both have DataBase files that you can download and import.
