"Updated" column on WoW category search incorrect

I don't know if it's just the category search (either clicking the category on an addons page or on the main WoW addons page) or all the global search, but I noticed that the "Updated" column isn't correct for many addons.  Check out this page of warlock addons and you'll see at the bottom that Necrosis ldC states it was updated on 1/16/2006.  However, when you click that link to go to the Necrosis page, the date of the last update is clearly 10/24/2008.

Now, of course this isn't a problem if someone is searching for a specific addon, but when you're looking to see what's available in a category and you're scanning the "Updated" column (don't get me started about not being able to sort that column either lol), these addons are going to be skipped over, especially with all the changes that Wrath of the Lich King brought to addon development.

I figured you might want to know about this before you made the columns sortable on global searches, as this would severely impact the accuracy of those sortings.

Not only the serch sorts the update-date wrong, also in the favorits the sort of update-date dosn't work either.

Well, the sorting is something they are working on, but in "Favorites," the most recently updated mods are listed first.  However, if they have only released a beta version and not an actual release, the mod will be listed at the top, but the date will be the older date.  So if you see something at the top of you list as if it was updated, but the date is quite old, that means in the "files" section of the addon page there will be a beta release.  YOU CANNOT USE THE BIG ORANGE DOWNLOAD BUTTON TO DOWNLOAD BETAS.  You have to use the arrow to the right of the file listing (middle of the page) for those downloads.

Oh my god, now i see what curse has done.

Who the *piep* had this idea? Confused  It's realy confusing.
If some one implements somthing like that, then make two colums. One with Relace-date and one with Beta-Date.
Or put a new colum with the newest date.

However, let the customer decide which date has to be displayed. But dont manipulate the diplayed data.

I do agree with you.  There are a lot of issues with Curse's searches and sorting.  More than once I've found addons (typically Fubar plugins) that are miscategorized, show up in the wrong searches, or don't show up at all.  Half the time when I go to add tags to an addon to help others find it Curse simply gives me some crazy error.

Don't get me wrong, I love Curse (although I hate the Curse client - manual install for the win) but there are some serious issues with the coding that should be fixed.  Sites with less money than Curse have decent SQL database and complex (and working) code behind them.  Perhaps let the web developers do the website and let the addon developers do the addons?  Can we donate to this cause?
