Annoying Ads

The advert displayed to the right of the "Curse Client" link auto expands and covers most of the screen.. even now I cant read this as the chuffin thing is over my text...

it automatically expands and it extremely annoying as I am unable to navigate through the updated addons section for example.

I am using IE 7.1.6001.18000 and as yet have not blocked javascript. I will do if this carries on for much longer.

I hope you can fix this really irritating problem.

Thanks for reading.

Hmmm.... I'm not seeing that (IE or Firefox) Maybe someone else can confirm? If not then you may have adware that has been installed without your knowledge.

Certainly isnt adware, it would likely be a non-standardised script (albiet a IE peculiarity perhaps). Picture attached, the "display the webpage" is due to my blocking the advert website via the hosts file not any problem with IE. When I hover over the "Select a Portal" tab it shrinks.

inline frames (IFRAME).... I was just guessing anyway.  I don't see the use of IFRAMEs here anyway. Most importantly have you tried another browser? You always need to do this no matter what the issue is just to make sure that it is on your end or theirs. If you can't determine that then it is really hard to help you. Try Firefox since is is the most standards compliant and unlike IE actually displays the page the author intended.

Since there are no other "OMG I'm having that same issue" posts here I would guess that it is on your end and not theirs, BUT you need to try another browser first.

FF is fine, 2nd thing I tried hence why I limited my remarks to IE.

I think your point is on the money, it's gonna be "my problem" whether its a server-side script or not (I'm still inclined to supsect the server) as I'm a lone affected user.

Really is frustrating that I'm "tied in" to using curse for some of my favourite addons I guess that's the price we pay for free stuff eh? ;¬D

I'll try the js thing but I aint gonna blanket that for IE, if it continues to bother me I'll hunt for other sources of the addons.

Cheers for your replies.
