Ok, lets set the record straight. THERE IS STILL A FREE VERSION OF CARBONITE QUEST avaliable! I found a note that says you should go into the addons directory on your computer and DELETE the previous version of Carbonite before you install the new version. For me personally, I like Carbonite so much better than the old Quest Helper, I'm giving serious thoughts to subscribing to the full Carbonite program so I can have all of the "bells and whistles" it has to offer. After all, its only $15.00 for a whole YEAR. Thats pretty darn cheap.
If you install the Curse profiler program it is supposed to watch for new updates to the addons you are using. It works fairly well, though lately it seems as though its a little bit behind in being notified about some of the most recent updates that have just become available in the past few days. Today for example the list of addons I'm using showed the most recent update of Carbonite was still the old version instead of the new version that became available a few days ago. Not sure what Curse's problem is with updating that listing.
Hope this info will help some of you who maybe forgot to look at the installation instructions? I'm not trying to make anyone feel bad here. I'm just like you. I want to get the new version of the addon installed as quickly as possible so I can get back to playing WoW. I didn't look at the installation instructions. I had the Curse programming to download and install the new version. I thought it had been done. When it became obvious the installation had not been performed correctly I went to the installation instructions and found out where I had made an error. I had not deleted the previous version before downloading the new one.
Now, its time to go and see if the download worked this time or not. Happy playing.
