i was kicked out of game yesterday just to find someone hacked into my account.  i talked to a guy at my cc company which he plays wow and he told me hes had his account jacked twice,  there is keylogging software inputted into questhelper.  i had mine kept up to date all the time and it just happened to me last night.  im not pointing fingers but steer clear of questhelper, you could be giving away your account info without even knowing it.  now i have to talk back and forth with wow and get this mess straightened up..

It was most likely NOT questhelper.  Get it off of Wowinterface, they thoroughly check all their addons.

It doesn't matter if you get addons from Curse or WowInterface. Think of the order in which you do things with WoW: enter user/pass, select char, THEN load game and addons. No addon EVER can hack your account.

*sigh* noobs. If you got hacked, stop surfing to bad websites, switch to Firefox, run an antivirus, and don't answer that email from the banker in Nigeria. Buy an authenticater from Blizzard, and never, ever, buy or sell gold online.

ugh im really sick of these posts all you do is scare people who dont know anything about this type of thing for absolutely NO reason. Research  a little bit and you'll find as has been said a multitude of times that it is impossiable for an addon to do what you think it did.

Yup, it's fear mongering and when a statement like that is made without proper proof just hurts the addon community as a whole. I say that all 'hacked' threads should require PROOF that a SPECIFIC addon is the culprit. I mean an EXACT link to the suspected file not just your suspicion that you were hacked because the last thing that you downloaded was an addon.

So, no proof then don't bother posting, period!

99.9999% of the posts in here are from a 1 post user so while he may have legitimately thought that he was making a valid point all of the negative comments here most likely drove him away. Most people register here to just post once and then they are to never to be seen again. I have reduced the amount of replies that I make to 1 post users since most never come back here to read the replies or answer follow up questions so why waste my time :)
