I was updating drivers and upon reboot I got this error.  The error was persistent after multiple reboots.  When I googled it I got references to several different things but Curse was one of them.  I'm not sure what I did to solve it, but I'll detail my steps taken.  I wanted to get something up that might help others figure it out.

It appears to me to be connected to Curse.  I was not running the current version but it IS now current. The curse client must have downloaded the new version, but I don't think it installed completely as there was no icon in the system tray. I launched Curse from the start menu and got a thank you window and then a window to login. Once logged in I updated addons and quit.  When I rebooted the error was gone.  It would be good if the developers could look into this as a possible bug.

I got this error when Curse tried to auto-update.

I re-ran Curse from my Start Menu and it installed the new version properly.

You still want to re run the installer, as the updating file is not getting updated when we release new clients.

No problem.  It's good to get a response and know how to fix it properly.  Will reinstall now to fend of future problems.

As net wrote, if you see the Updater.exe issue, it is due to a bug in the old client, that has since been fixed. Please be sure to run the new installer, which comes with a working version of Updater.exe.
