Just tried to find Carbonite Quest on Curse and Curse Client tonight 03/26/09.  It is not on the client list that I can find also, when I go to search for it on curse, it comes up and even says updated in Feb.  But when I click on it there to go to the next step(to DL), it say that the post is not found or administratoe may have deleted it.  I'm soooo mad because I had it on my game this AM and just unistalled it because I was getting an Error message when I logged into game for it.  I just was going to try and reinstal it from my client and couldn't find it anywhere!!!  HELP please!!  I will not instal regular quest helper either....only want carbonite....Thanks in advance to any who replies!!  :)

If you absolutely can't get it off this site, try the Carbonite homepage at www.carboniteaddon.com to download the newest version

Hum, I was going to give you a link to Wowinterface but I just found they are gone there also.  You would need the previous version as the current one has an expire bug in it.  They may have pulled it because of the new blizzard rules on addones.

Well no...Carbonite was always a paid subscription (for at least a year as far as I can tell) and Carbonite Quest has always been free.  I imagine Quest was pulled because it breaks the new Add-on policy.  I'm anxiously awaiting an announcement on their website...

Guys, since Blizzard changed their UI policy to not allow addons to be paid or to obsfucate their code, Carbonite removed their product.  Probably for good, although I don't know that for sure.

Well, thanks to all your replies!!! That really stinks!  I hate Quest Helper and really liked Carbonite quest.  I wish I wouldn't have unistalled it first before knowing!  I'll try the carbonite site but I liked curse client for installation purposes.  I'm not real talented in the zip and unzipping practice.  Any other real nice Quest aid suggestions is much appreciated and thanks again to all.  Lets hope they return soon to Curse!!  Happy fighting!  :)

This is really good news for most people. It is nice to see a major addon taking the new UI policy to heart. I will be interested to see if they release the addon back to the major addon sites or if they keep it located on their site only. I think that they may do the later since they can make the donation links more obvious.

GOOG NEWS, GOOD NEWS.  goto wowinterface and search carbonite.  i got version 3.0.0 on april 1, 2009 and version 3.001 on april 2, 2009.  u will have to manually install the addon, but it works as well as it ever did, with a few new perks.

im personally not happy about the new addon policy but oh well... i would like to see carbonite quest released again though.... it had all the features i actually used without breakin 4 or 5 other addons that i really like...

You do realize that you can get the full version for free now! Right?

maybe he is afraid that this piece of bloat wont be developed any further ;D

are you telling me, that you dont know what to do with a zip file?

I am not trying to be ignorant, but if that is true you need to read a book title "Computer Basics:Things you need to know before turning it on"  or  "Computers for dumbies".

once you understand how to extract a zip file, then you need to manually install the addon.

tried that site and couldnt find a serach thing and looked at there add on page and still couldnt find carbonate quest :(

I even went to the site www.carboniteaddon.com made a donation so that i could download it and they took my money did not give me a password to get in to the carbonite area so i can done load it. I am very upset that even tho i was willing to pay to have the carbonite, I still dont have one that works. Never again will i recommend carbonite to anyone!

Donations for addons are voluntary. You do not have to pay for carbonite anymore. Everybody is trying to download at the same time and its bogging down the servers because there is so much traffic, so just be patient and try again in a little.

Is it just me or is Wowinterface down? I'm guessing it'll be from traffic, but I thought I would ask. Also, just refresh me. I unzip the zip file just directly into the AddOn folder correct?

And yes on your next question.  You can unzip the the file anywhere.  Just make sure that you move the folder that got unzipped into the Interface/AddOns directory.

After this last patch my carbonite quest was broken so I installed it from carboniteaddon.com and went through the correct steps(unzipping, extracting, etc.) and it doesn't work. It is in my addon folder, but it does not show up in game. Suggestions?

Easy install instructions for Firefox and Windows Vista users (will be different for other browsers and operating systems):

* When prompted, click on "save file"
* Save to a directory in c:\users\public\games\Add-ons (first time around you will need to create this folder)
* When complete, right click on the downloads list and select Open Containing Folder
* Right click on the directory and select "Scan for Viruses" (and if really paranoid like me, right-click scan using SpyBot-Search&Destroy)
* Double click to open the zipped folder
* Press Ctrl A (both keys at the same time) to select everything in the folder
* Press Ctrl C to copy
* Navigate to your WoW folder (e.g. c:\users\public\games\world of warcraft)
* Open the Interface then AddOns folders (double click on them)
* Press Ctrl V to paste the copied folders in
* When prompted to merge folders, check the box "do this for all current items" then click on Yes
* When prompted that there is already a file with the same name, check the box "do this for the next 70 conflicts" then click on the first option, Copy and Replace

You can no longer download Carbonite from their own website; you are forced to go through Wowinterface and I refuse

to download ANYTHING from that site.

I am hoping sooner or later other people will have it on alternate servers.

WoWInterface is the official host for Carbonite.  Maybe one day it will be back on Curse but that is up to the authors.  Also as a warning you should be very careful of what you download form non reputable sites.

Yes I am aware of that. I have played WoW for 4 years. I have never been "Hacked" never even had a virus.

But I wouldn't download it from this site either ;)
