Have the curse client been fixed?

Due to the new block of WoWMatrix, I'm considering testing out Curse Client again. I will not install it without asking some questions in advance however.

1. Do it still include a spyware addon? I think it's called Profiler or something similar. When I last installed Curse Client this addon was installed automaticly, and uploaded information without my concent. While it was possible to stop the addon from running, it still installed without asking me. This is the definition of spyware. Does the current client still do this, or am I asked before installing?

2. Can I now uninstall addons manually? While I last used Curce Client I manually removed all my addons to build myself a new interface. However, when I started Curse Client it noticed that these addons were missing, and re-installed them for me - something that I did not want. The only way to avoid this that I found would have been to uninstalling the addons using Curse Client. Obviously I didn't do this, but instead removed the client.

3. Do Curse Client still download outdated addons? Last time Curse Client "updated" several of my addons with old version, as I had newer versions from other sites (independant or from WoWInsider). This caused my whole UI to be broken. Do this still happen, or is there some kind of Toc check to avoid this?

This is in no way bashing of Curse, nor of Curse Client. I have heard that it is better these days. I will however not install a software that might install spyware on my PC (even if you might argue that it's "good spyware"), or software that risk breaking my UI.

1) the profiler, isn't malware, it's a feature many users want.  You can however disable it during installation

2) Those types of behaviors are much improved, I don't expect you'd have any issues.

3) It downloads the most up to date on curse.com.  If we don't recognize the version you have we won't touch it.

Thank you for your quick answer. Now I did install the addon (did make a backup first though) - and it would seem that it works better. The UI is also much improved.

I also have to agree with you, the profiler is no longer a spyware, as you are asked if you want to install it or not. That makes all the difference.

Again, thanks.
