'Install via Curse Client' doesn't work anymore, psyn assoc. valid tho

I can't get my "Install via Curse client" buttons to work anymore, since around version 2.1.1.17.RC1.  I have a newer version 3.0.0.3 (Auto-updated).

Clicking the "Install via Curse Client" button doesn't work anymore.  It used to work everytime, but now, I can only get it to work if the Client is closed, but ONLY for the first item I click download for.  After the Curse Client is running, the Install via Curse client" buttons never work.  As you may understand, this can be quite frustration to have to exit the Curse client everytime before clicking the download button for an addon on a web page.

This happens in both Internet Explorer and Firefox.  I've tried reinstalling twice or more, both with versions 3.0.0.3 (clean download) and the older 2.1.1.17.RC1 (the last version I remember it working correctly with).  Unfortunately an upgrade to 3.0.0.3 is compulsory upon launching the older version, or the client quits immediately upon declining an upgrade.

I have tried deleting the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\psyn reg key, and then reinstalling, but the key writes back all the same values (the association still seems OK, that is to say).

Any ideas on how to fix?  Thanks much.

Additional Info:

I've created a test Explorer shortcut to test if this happens in here too, not just IE and FF.

target:

"C:\Program Files\Curse\CurseClient.exe" -url "psyn://addonservice.curse.com/AddOnService.asmx/GetAddOn?pAddOnId=15803"

--Double-clicking this shortcut from explorer DOESN'T WORK if the Curse client is running.

--But opening it DOES work if the client isn't running.

Any ideas on why the client doesn't open the psyn correctly anymore?  Thanks.

Just download from the client through the client. Can't you do that?

If deleting the reg key doesn't do it, try going into FF or IE's options, finding the protocol handling info, and either deleting PYSN or pointing it directly to the Curse Client.

Yes, downloading through the client works, and it did.

But what I'm reporting is that I can no longer download through the web pages anymore, except on 1st open of the client through web click.

These are unrelated issues.

It's important to be able to download through the web pages for the purpose of reading the full description and viewing the screenshots.

It's a real pain to have to click "View at Curse.com" in the client to view the 'full' description/see images each time, or the vice-versa, to type the name of the addon from the webapage into the client for each download.

------------

NOTE:

Without ANY further effort on my part, this bug seems to have been fixed in the latest update of the Curse Client today (version 3.0.0.4).

Thanks to those at Curse who finally seemed to have fixed this long standing bug. (1+ month).

Well, for whatever reason it has stopped for you, it has started for me.  I need to constantly close Curse Client to download off the web page.  Same problem no matter if using FF or IE.  I do not know anything about changing the files though that people mentioned.  It worked days ago, and now it doesn't.

I originally had this error when i first starting using Curse.  I found that when the error came up, firefox gave me the option to select which program to use to open the link.  I selected the Curse executable and it resolved my issue.

korgonx, what game are you trying to add?

If you open the Curse Client v3 on the left you should be able to see something that says Manage Games.  If you click on that you should be able to add your game.
