Having the same problem with the error and not connecting. Windows Firewall is turned off, but here at work we run a Bascom Firewall. If you are running over Port 80, it shouldn't block it though since it would see it as Web Trafffic. My machine is also set up as a static workstation and is completely open, no sites are blocked for me. If port 80 is the only port it uses, then I am not sure why the Client won't connect from here.
I have no issues with the Client at home, but would really like to get it working here as well.

I can offer some suggestions as to things that may help locally.
The client does use port 80 to communicate with the network. It also hosts locally on port 37618, which is used by the psyn protocol handler for the "install via curse client" functionality. Receiving the cannot connect error is never due to having the wrong password or account not existing.
Common causes of inability to connect include: Proxy/firewall settings, running dual ip addresses (although this case should be fixed in the most recent client), misconfigured routers/switches, as well as certain routers/switches which prevent too many simultaneous tcp connections.

Thanks for the feedback bloodreddiamond,
If possible could you state which firewall you were using in case other users have a similar issue?

I've tried everything to log it in! No firewall on at all! The IP address is the same and I can log on the net, but it keeps saying that it can't log in due to internet connection & firewall settings. What the heck is going on? I tried asking Llamabark, but he wasn't any help at all. T_T

I'm in the same boat. I've tried checking everything and there is nothing wrong with it. I turned off my firewall and my virsu protectors. I'm using a Netgear router and able to get on the net perfectly fine and still it wont let me log on. And to think, my sister said this was a helpful thing. All it's been is a pain in my butt so far. I think they should make this thing more user friendly and easier for people to use instead of having it so hard for others to use it.

Where was this asked? I'm always interested in how I can be more helpful to users.
