My Curse client does not update any WoW addons anymore. I've had this problems for a few days now, even before 3.1 was released. I'm not a 100% sure about this, but I think I have this problem since Curse version 3.0.0.3, at least everything worked fine with 3.0.0.2. It seems to me like the client has some issues with connecting or downloading the addons (I can login without any problems, but downloading/updating doesn't work). I am running Windows XP x64 and never had any problems with the Curse client before. The "Release Preference" is set to "Alpha", by the way.
After I log in, the clients gets the list of all new addons, scans my addon folder and tells me which of them are outdated. Getting the latest addon list and retrieving the latest changelogs on demand always seems to work fine. When it tries to update my adons, it only opens up the little download-windows for each addon in which you can see the progress bar for each installation, and then nothing happens. The windows stay open for a while, the progress bar stays at 0%, then the windows doses, without any error message, like it didn't get a connection and pinged out or something. After all windows have closed, the client tells me in the upper righ corner that "All addons are up to date", which is clearly wrong, because it did not update anything and the column "Installed" in the addon list still shows me the old version number. When I right click an addon, the option "Update" is greyed out and unuseable, I don't know if this is the case because the client thinks all addons are up to date. When I click the "Update All" button, it also tells me that all addons are up to date an does not do anything. After clicking "Refresh", it again sees that my addons are outdated, tries to update them, opens download-windows, closes download-windows, tells me everything is up to date, but nothing actually got updated.
When I sort my addon list by the latest version on the server, I can at least compare them to my installed version number, go to the website an update them all by hand. Clicking the "install via curse client"-button on the website doesn't work either, by the way. So I tried reinstalling all my addons at once via the "Reinstall" button in the Curse client, which worked - but only for about 90% of my addons, for the rest of them I got some error message. I selected the addons which did not reinstall, right-clicked them and chose "Reinstall" in the popup-menu. Sometimes this worked, for some addons I had to repeat this two or three times until the client was able to download and reinstall them.
Today, I wanted to update my addons again, as there are a lot of updates coming at the moment because of the release of 3.1. This time, even reinstalling the addons did not help. Also, the client has some problem checking for a new client version at startup now and I have to manually click "sign in" every time to skip it. So here I am, updating all addons by hand again.
Is there anything I can do about this, or will I have to wait for a client update?

I have exactly the same problem since I updated the client to version 3.0.0.3
Reinstall the curse-client didn't help.
Updating all AddOns seperatly via the "Update"-Button sometimes helps, but only for about 30% of my AddOns.

Can you guys e-mail your CurseClient.log file to client@curse.com ?
It's found under your user folder. For Vista, it's: C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Local\CurseClient\CurseClient.log

Sending it to you right now.
I just tried to downgrade the client back to 3.0.0.2 to see if that would help, but sadly, the client closes automatically if I do not allow it to upgrade at startup, so there seems to be no way to test this (the logfile I sent you was taken from before I tried to downgrade).

I have the same problem, when the client tries to update I get the window download failed and it doesn't update any addon i guess the problem is with the curse profiler, and when i go to the page and try to install manually any addon it says "The link you have followed has expired. This most likely occurs when you followed a direct file link from a webpage or if you used an addon updater that is not approved for use with Curse. If you got this error when attempting to download a file from Curse, please contact us." and i dont even have the curse client installed so im stuck

Same problems like Kezo and many others here.
The Reason may be found in "Http transaction failed!"
No idea to solve the problem yet.

Same thing is happening to me. But it wont even let me get close to downloading it. I even tried manually doing it. -cry- my friends had no problems updating theirs. Oh and I couldn't find that log, maybe my curse downloader broke or something.

@Adamar
After I mailed the logfile, I got a response asking me to give you guys a MSN ID through which you could contact me and send me a debug build which would do some more logging. I gave you an ID right away and havn't heard from you since, and it has almost been a week. I am willing to supply you with all the debug data you need to get the client running again, so it would be nice if you could provide me with that build.

I didn't see this thread until now, but I'm suffering the same problem, as noted here: http://www.curse.com/forums/t/92053.aspx
No reply as of yet though. From the posts in this thread I can see that it's been around for a while and that the developers do not have a good turn around time. That is discouraging :(

I'm on Client 3.0.0.4, When I go to update my DeadlyBossMods for WoW, it downloads, extracts and installs, and then shows the most up to date version, but when I hit refresh (or close curse and restart) it always goes back to version 3.3 of DBM.

I had exactly the same.
I had these messages on my router :
**SYN Flood to Host** My pc IP, 4829->> 69.57.184.212(curse?), 80 (from ATM1 Outbound)
I did some research and I did find out that when the router firewall is set to high you get these problems with for example google maps or filefront also. I turned my router firewall to medium and now I can download with the curse client.
Hope this helps for some of you

that may have worked but that is a security issue. i should not have to changed the security on my router to get this to work.
Curse, please give some answers for this. ive been looking at all the posts of updating problems and thay all sound like the same this, a loss of internet connection.
curse please stand behind your product.

Hi ocala-kaylee,

Hrm, if his router is thinking it's a synflood, it could be due to the way the client uses piplineing.
One of our developers is looking at this and a few other widespread issues. :)

Yeah well... Had the same problems. Had to "download" updates up to 6 time before they've installed all of them after 3.1. I thought it might have been because of the traffice generated after the patch, but was still hapening even yesterday.
And now they've gone "Pay for this service" mode as of 1 hour ago. Don't know if I'm prepared to pay and still get errors downloading. Guess it is time for WowInterface for me.

the service interruptions we had during patch day shouldn't be affecting you anymore. However if you're getting the networking issue these guys are that could be the cause of that.

You seem to be right, after turning off the firewall on my router the client is able to update again. This is not an acceptable solution to the problem, of course.

Uneblievable, it works!
When i disable the Router Firewall ist works fine.
But i don`t understand why.
Thre are two more Clients working behind the router, both of them
are working with enabled router firewall, its confusing.

To add to the info here ...
Disabling my router firewall also worked.
The security log shows that it was being blocked as it was recognized as a "TCP FIN Scan".
I won't be using Curse at all until this is solved - disabling my router firewall is completely unacceptable.

It would help us figure out the issue if those of you who got it working by disabling your firewall would post the make and model of the router you are using, and possibly any relevant settings. We certainly don't expect everyone to run unfirewalled just to use the client.

I found a Solution that works (for me) without disable the Routerfirewall.
The Problem was:
Maximum incomplete TCP/UDP sessions number from same host: 10
after increasing the numbers of incomplete TCP/UDP Sessions up to 50 the Client works fine.

Your previous post indicated that you were able to make it work with your setup.
Is there another issue you are having now with 3.0.0.5?

Ive been having the same problems as all of you, however disabling my firewall security was not an option. Then I realized I hadnt updated my routers firmware in over a year. Updated it, and Curse updater works fine.

Prismatech - Am I understanding correctly that it worked in 3.0.0.4 and is now having a problem downloading in 3.0.0.5?
