Curse client tells me that Im using wowmatrix, and that it installs addons in a way not intended by the author of the addon.

Then why doesnt more then 50% of my addons work after updating and reinstalling them with curse?

Been working at restoring my addons for about 2 hours now to get half of my addons to work.
Maby best if curse client works a bit better together with wowmatrix instead of telling people not to use it?

Wowmatrix engages in some questionable practices, and curse.com has decided to actively block wowmatrix.

I have made a list of proposals for curse to implement in their client to better compete with wowmatrix, which should make it more desireable to use curse's client.

Well, this clears up a couple of things, tho still dont help me much...

Im just now done with a compleete manual install of my addons again, cus the curse client dosnt recognize the addons, and break the addons it sais its updates.
Would much more like to see curse use the wowmatrix instead, Tho I can understand it might be difficult getting wowmatrix owner to sign it over...

How is the Curse Client breaking your addons? Whether you install manually, or from the web site, the net result should be exactly the same. Can you provide me with more information?

I have no straight forward answer for that...

When I first fired up the CC, 75-80% of my addons is in the not compatible tab.
When I try to install them again, I get empty folders, files missing, and even folders missing.

So I went back to wowmatrix that managed to repair about 10-15 addons of my 300, rest (about 200 addons) I had to download using manual install from curse.com, or get older versions from my own backup...

I wouldn't recommend using WM to "fix" the addons. It modifies them and makes it more difficult for CC to detect and use them.

If they need fixing, fix them manually or using CC's interface.

The fact is, WowMatrix just worked.  Period.  I can't even get the stupid pos Curse client to run on my Mac.  Curse, you are screwing users over.  You suck.

By using WowMatrix, you were screwing Curse over.

Hypothetical situation: you use WowMatrix. Curse loses money. Curse goes out of business. Curse no longer exists. WowMatrix has no Curse to leech off of. And you don't get squat.

I just want to say: I LOVE CURSE...

But I hate the Curs Client...
I totally think you would save more money on just buying the whole wowmatrix platform...
Atleast thatone is working... Never had a problem with it at all...
Curse Client is interesting, tho still far from a product I would release in other then beta form...

and the adds you mention in wowmatrix... I dont even notice them... its 3 small text only adds on the top, nothing more.
And the modifying of addons the wowmatrix is doing is looking more like a rumor you are making up to get people to stay away.
Almost like the rumor that was spread that wowmatrix installed keloggers and such on the client computer...
All this is just bullshit (sorry for the language, but its the truth).
I dont like rumors any more on the net then I like the onse passing me on my home street.
Tell the truth that you know: They are stealing your bandwith, nothing more... (and yes, thats wrong enough, so stick to that fact)

Honestly, I don't think it has anything to do with WM's practices. And their copyright argument smells of BS to me since WM only provides a front end to links elsewhere. It's the kind of think I'd expect RIAA/MPAA to be saying.

I think it comes down to the fact that WowMatrix is a better client and Curse/WoWUI do not like that. Even WoWAceUpdater was better.
