Heya, New WoW patch screwed my game up, had to reinstall, lost all my addons (no biggy, just downloaded them again) but now they aren't working, any help? My friend installed the addons in the first place as I suck at anything computer related. Can someone please tell me how I get them working again? So far I have downloaded them via the Curse client. They are showing up in the curse program, but not on my game... Any help?

At your charactor selection screen is there a button on the bottom left called Addons?
If so when you select that button is the addon(s) in question in that list? Also make sure that you have "Load out of date Addon" check.
Post back if this helps or not.

Then the addons are not installed correctly or at least not in the correct location. If you know where the correct location is then in the Curse Client go to the Manage Games tab and there should be a path for the game directory make sure that is correct. If you do not know the correct path please post back with what operating system your using.

I had a quick look round, the install path is seems to be going to the trial version of warcraft. I tried setting it to the propper installed version, which is what I have upgraded to, under the addons file, there is a file for each of the addons, so it appears to me that they are installed in the right game, but I don't know what is wrong. I have uninstalled the trial version, so it is possibly just installing to a empty file.

To things I would like to know.
- What is the directory of where wow is located now?
- What is the directory that the Curse Client has for wow?
The two thing that I listed above should match. Just like in the screenshot below. So for Vista usually your addon directory is located C:\Users\Public\Games\World of Warcraft. This is looking for where your wow.exe is located not your addons. If your wow.exe is not located where the Curse Client thinks it is then you should Browse for the correct location of your wow folder.

Did you make sure that you've checked load out of date addons?
Also, are all the addons that are not showing up in your list of addons in the client? Make sure there not in the unidentified tab.

Question for both of you.
Draaka
Do you have a folder named AddOns in this location?
C:\Users\Public\Games\World of Warcraft\Interface\
mic800217
Do you have a folder named AddOns in this location?
C:\Progam Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\
If there is not try manually creating a folder named AddOns in that location.
Also another question. Do you have multiple users on your computer, and does the user that you play wow on or run the CC have admin privledges?

If you mean in the curse client, then they are in the warcraft
folder, on my hard drive then public/games/World of
Warcraft/Interface/addons in there is all the addon folders.
(I hadn't realised how much I relied on Questhelper and the threat meter until they were gone)
I have no other users on this computer, and am on my admin account.

I might be stretching this one but why don't you try running the repair file and see if that helps. Specially since you had the issue with two wow directory. It should be located in you wow directory or you can download it from Blizzard.

Let me guess your having problems with QuestHelper? Try /qh hardreset. Type that in your chat window.

Just a thought, because I'm using Vista and also ran across the identical situation where the Curse client had installed my add-ons but they weren't showing in the game. Do you have the "Run as administrator" option checked next to your WoW launch icon? For gaming, I run a standard (non-administrative) account and couldn't figure out what the problem was until it occurred to me how particular Vista is with regard to any modifications to programs from a standard account. So when I unchecked the run as administrator option, I had full access to all mods. Worth a shot. Just right-click the WoW icon and uncheck the option if it's checked and see if that helps.
