Absolutely no way.  You should be happy with all the ad revenue you already receive.

You don't have to pay to update your mods.

You can still update your mods for free without any cost to you. You can still access every mod that is hosted by Curse for free without any cost to you. You can still download the Curse Client and use most of its functions for free without any cost to you. 

All in all, you've lost nothing.

Please note that those two sentences are entirely at odds with each other.  "Update All" was removed for non-paying users.  Hence, we "lost" access to that service as it existed before.

curse is cursed with a greedy $ emblem on his eyes and i guess none of the users liked it.. well whats gonna happen when curse is going far more down? i was loving this site guys it was helpful... but greediness made it sinked.. losing popularity and respect couldnt be fixed by money imo but its curse's choice and lets see what s gonna be users reaction towards that greediness

After that stunt pulled today when I could no longer do an 'Update All' - the adverts now in my face - and what appears to be a crippling of speed to download the addons also (presumably to 'encourage' everyone to PAY for the 'improved' speed with 'premium' they used to get) - I'm Moving on - GOODBYE CURSE CLIENT! the edge you once had has now been eroded.

I must admit that I don't have a problem with the premium plan as long as the free one is available.

People also need to realize that not everything can be free online. It does cost money to run a site like curse.com. To cover the cost there are two options: ads or premium accounts.

I am definitely fed up with curse client... first it forces us to use it as it blocks of wowmatrix that was much better anyway and gave access to all type of add-ons even when they weren't from curse and now it even forces us to pay for it if we want to "update" add-ons.

We now only can "reinstall" add-ons. This is abusing completely a monopole that they created themselves. I have no means to pay anything over the internet as my debit cards do not allow me to pay online and I can't have credit cards nor do I want them.

Damn curse
