Is there an alternate method of payment that isn't Paypal?

The paypal site allows you to use a credit card instead of funds in your paypal account.

While that's true; Paypal provide no protections for consumers that do not purchase through eBay - and they have burnt me before to the tune of about $300 when a merchant decided simply to not provide me the software I bought. Suffice to say, after that - I don't want anything to do with them.
Please consider offering payments through a different provider as an alternative (such as Worldpay or the like); while I won't go so far as to say Paypal is a scam, they are definitely anti-consumer, and I don't want to give them any access to my credit cards or other payment information.

It would also be convenient if Curse had used something like WorldPay or even better ShareIt!. Remember not everyone playing wow has a valid credit or debit card, they're are plenty of people who are using pre-paid game cards due to having no other choice. Something like ShareIt! gives your customers a huge range of options as to how to pay you.

Oh and note I'll probably swallow my objections and set up Paypal for just long enough to buy a Curse 1 year subscription as it's very reasonably priced in my opinion. I'll see where things are at after a year when considering if I continue to pay after that.

We do understand that some users object to using PayPal, but I imagine there'd be even more people having an issue if we had chosen a less well-known payment system. We have had internal discussions about opening this up in the future, but there is nothing to announce at this time.

You don't need to set up an account to use Paypal for this afaik. You only need to log into PayPal if you already have an account there with your credit card on it.

It's not really about having to set up an account or not; I know I don't have to. I object because Paypal is not a bank, but acts like one; what happens if Curse ups their subscription to $200/week and I haven't logged in to notice until I get a huge CC bill? They can do that, and Paypal will happily hang up on me when I call to get my money back.
As for lesser know, there's Worldpay, run by the Royal Bank of Scotland, which is hardly disreputable - you could also set up a merchant account and just do it yourself.

Your answer is conspiracy theory? If you pay for the one year service, you get one year of service. You can cancel the recurring payments if you like, and never have to worry about increased rates. Aside from that, not keeping track of your own cards is by no means the fault of any particular vendor, and I doubt WorldPay will do this for you. Paypal isn't exactly a poorly known service, being the largest of them all. Any large company or service provider you can find horror stories about. Just because someone had a bad experience and made a scene out of it, doesn't mean by any degree that it's the standard.
Kinda like all the people here complaining about the Client ending the preview. It certainly looks like a good number of people, but in reality, I'd imagine the majority got over it without much of a second though. Use the standard client, or pay for the premium client.

You know what? You're right. I mean, I'm not fond of how PayPal does buisness for a lot of reasons, but just because I've heard a lot of horror stories doesn't mean it's the norm. If it were, PayPal probably wouldn't be the largest company of its kind out there.
Alright - count me in. I withdraw my previous objection to PayPal only... even though I still think it would be better if another option were available.

Conspiracy theory? No, my answer is "Paypal took $200 from my bank account, wouldn't let me dispute it, and when I had my bank reverse the charge, put my paypal account into negative, won't let me close it, won't remove my payment details from their system and keeps sending me nasty emails about paying them; what's more -- they paid the merchant who scammed me". So, I don't use Paypal, I don't much care wether or not you think this sort of horror story is uncommon or not, it happened to me, so I'm not really prepared to do business with or through them again. I do want to pay for the Curse subscription, but I don't want it enough to pay through Paypal.
Incidentally, Worldpay is run by a bank, so chargebacks, disputes, etc. can be handled between your bank and the merchant, which is how the regulated banking system works.

Is there an update on this? Currently, PayPal is forcing people to signup for an account in order to go through with the payment. They also force you to give them the right to divulge information about you and about your account to third parties.
I would really like to purchase a Premium subscription, as I have a job and don't have that much time to click each addon in order to update it. However, I will not signup for a PayPal account in order to purchase it, so I would like to know if I should just give it a rest or if there is hope for either a direct credit card payment, or a a payment option that will not force me to signup for a PayPal account.
As a sidenote, no one is forcing Curse to offer just one payment option. Why not have PayPal and a direct payment option?
Thank you.

Sorry, I have no timeline to give you on supporting methods other than the two PayPal methods currently supported.
