When i enable them, i either get a error message and WOW closes, or my entire laptop just freezes half way through loading forcing me to power it off.

but it runs flawlessly when i try play without add ons.

Is it because im on a 10 day trail?

I wouldn't be surprised if the Wow.exe (or any of the other files) are skinned down versions of the full game, this can mean that certain functions are not available for the addons to use. When however addons try to hook up on these functions, wow might see this as some kind of intrusion and lock up, causing your error.

How do i get round it?

Buy the full version of the game. I honestly don't know if the trial limits access of addons, but I doubt it, as that would mean the trial's APIs and Events are limited. However, I know the trial won't let you play everything in the game, no matter how fast you level.

i dont reslly wonna get the full version knowing add ons wont work, because i dont have much time to play so i dont wonna spend hours wasting time going to the wrong places or killing the wrong enemys doing quests etc.

Trial versions have limits placed on most features, this includes the use of non-Blizzard addons. the primary addons like questhelper and others that help direct you so your not spinning your wheels work in full version. the main problem seems to be that you may have to have several addon 'services' in order to get all the individual addons you want. and even then the 'services' don't seem to be doing a very good job of getting authors to update their addons so they work with WoWs latest patch.
