I had the client working perfectly with Windows7 64bit and 4 gb of ram, upgraded to 8gb and now the client just crashes all the time and will not work:

There are multiple ways - some users prefer the forums, others prefer creating tickets.

As I understand the problem, you originally had 4gb of ram, upgraded to 8gb, which somehow had the side effect of making the client crash? Was there anything else that could have changed?

Also, is the client crashing immediately on startup and if so with what error? If it does not crash immediately, could you please post your curseclient.log file? (should be in users\yourname\appdata\local\curseclient\curseclient.log

If i run the client it logs in, then displays my addons then i get the cureseclient crash message and windows trys to find a solution.

Vista professional with 8 GB RAM, no crashes here relating to memory size. It's EXTREMELY resource unfriendly though and literally kills my quad core :P

perhaps someone could list all the areas that the curse client installs files of ANY sort, i will uninstall and then check all those locations to manually remove any remnants then re-install just in case?

@markjames, the only place it stores files for is under your user directory, a profile path.  I'm not sure the exact path on win7.  You can search for CurseClient.log, should be in a folder named CurseClient.  I'd try wiping it.

Sidenote, asp was the author of one of the early versions of the CurseClient.  

@asp, I think you're going to love v4, the performance of it looks to be amazing so far. Your quad core should be much happier with it. 

I know this doesn't help, but two of the devs here at Curse are running 8Gb, Windows Server 2008, so I think Windows 7 Beta may be the thing to investigate here.

well after removing completely and deleting all curse folders and files, i reinstalled and all is ok now, very strange indeed, the only thing i changed is upgraded from 4gb to 8gb memory.

very odd.  The current version suffers from some database corruptions.  Much of which will be fixed in 4.0.

I am also running win 7 w/8G mem.. I have not recently added memory, but the client did start crashing.. just FYI if that helps.
