Curse Premium... why???

Curse Client use to be very f***ing useful... but now they had to go and make "Curse Premium" so now i have to pay to update all of my UI at once.... dude... I'm already paying monthly for the f***ing games I'm playing... why the hell would i want to spend more just use some ass program that makes it a little more easy for me to update my UI????

Needless to say I've uninstalled curse client because it is now PISS POOR SLOW AND USELESS and now update manually.... Who ever thought of this Curse Premium garbage should get a swift kick to the crotch... do you really think everyone in the world has the money for this shit????? Yeah yeah... go and ahead and say "Well then why do you pay monthly to play games?" well... because I PLAY them... and ENJOY them... they are worth something to me... wasting money on a trash program does not bring to pleasure... it just takes my cash away for no reason...

I am not trying to be a baby or anything... I am just freely expressing how I feel about this because i think it is a HUGE mistake and a terrible idea... GJ guys... GJ...

Curse needs money too.

Agreed. With the introduction of Curse Premium the client is only functional to inform me of addons that need to be updated. Otherwise, it's completely worthless. Not only does it take considerably longer to update each addon individually(not including the downloading time that has increased exponentially), but it's just overall more frustrating to deal with. You can't begin downloading another addon until the previous one has completely installed, or while another is downloading, or whatever.

And the ridiculous fee for premium?! Holy shit...

ok we have another idiot QQing again.... Get a damn clue its NEVER will be free to keep this site running would doesnt work like that. Big deal curse isn't holding you damn hand anymore grow up you scrub. The people you run this site and the authors are going out of there damn way to make are gameing life better and when they can't do it alone they change things asking for are support if we are able to. But no you have to act like a jerk and QQ about the changes. If you sat at a pc and programed a addon then took the time to update the addon for even 3 months time i bet you sure would probably give up the addon or ask for money for your time spent. Instead you one of the idiots that cry about how things arent easy for you any more. Who cares wth you want people like you make me sick try looking at it from all angles before you open your damn mouth.

It's interesting to me that they are even allowed to do this. Blizzard has put a stop to addon authors making money via donations. I do understand that Curse Client isn't really a game addon, but it seems to me that they are skirting the rules a bit.

The Curse Client is not an addon, and thus is not bound by those rules. Also, Curse is an official fansite, and is in constant contact with Blizzard; as such, if Blizzard had an issue, it was addressed by both Curse and Blizzard before the changes went into effect. Furthermore, Curse does not require anybody to use the Premium version of the Client and all addons hosted by Curse can be accessed for free via web browser or the Basic Client.

There is no "skirting" going on, I assure you. And if Blizzard changes their policy in the future, then Curse will change to match.

But you are, you're whining and whining, and deep down, you're hoping some change will happen because of it. You deleted the program? Good. You now have no right to whine about it. Curse could have made everything "premium" and just left you with a list of what you could have if you paid. They didn't, they let you do everything yourself for free. Now, you want them to update all of your addons at once? Well, look at it this way, if you hired some little dude to just chill at your desk and update for you, you'd have to pay him, and thats what the client is doing.

You're being a baby... stop that. And you're whining... stop that as well. And you're thinking that you were entitled to the services they let you PREVIEW for the last little while... and you just plain need to cut that stuff out.

In all honesty I wouldn't mind it too bad if not for the price...I mean wow...that's alot at 3-5 bucks a month. Here's the reasoning.

1) casual players, believe it or not these are a majority of the players on any MMO.  These people will be the ones paying the 5 buck a month fee. They also get the least use. Less for more is never a good marketing strategy.

2) raiders, these folks might go 6-12 months if they buy it. But these folks are already under the penny on vent, websites, and many other things.  ATM our guild is struggling to afford vent fees. This is in part to alot of job losses in the economy. 30 more dollars a year seems alot when out of work.

3) similar programs-Seen other programs with similar services on other games, for $1 a month if yearly. $2 if monthly. This isn't a huge hit to the wallets and brought in ALOT more people. Then later they raised prices 50 cents each to line with economy. The loss was negligable.

I understand the need for income, truly it's expensive to run a site like this and time consuming, but there needs to be some thought in mind for the cash strapped wallets that play. Myself I can't afford a haircut atm and I HAVE a job.
