Gatherer also has a hud that will give you a rough idea of where to go and show a line of the path you've been taking around.

Ahh, I see. I was hoping that there was a way to track them using an add-on, but if it's like you said, then that's just bad luck I guess. Obviously the reason I ask is because when I'm out hunting for herbs, switching from my minimap to my character ( to check what direction I'm headed so I don't run into something) then back to the minimap again gets tedious.

Thanks for the info though. I'll have to give cartographer a try.

what Cartographer does have is a heads up display (HUD) that shows the herbs/nodes/fish on your display as well as your minimap. You'll see a picture of the item with an angle showing direction that gets brighter as you near it. That's the best thing for you

as far as ive been able to tell, such a mod is not possible - aparantly the "pips" are part of the map, not placed over hte map, so the addon would have to actually have something that discerns the specific color of the pips, and, as far as ive been able to tell, such a mod would actually be considered a "bot" and thus against the TOS

Basically what I'm looking for is a mod that will make a noise or some announcement if something that I'm tracking (specifically herbs, mines, fish, etc) appears on the minimap as a yellow tracking dot. This way I can run/fly around without having to constantly watch the map.

Anybody know of any mods that will do this? I looked at Cartographer and a couple other mobs and they didn't say that they had this feature.

Anybody have any ideas?
