there's also an SDK available for download from i think the worldofwarcraft.com site...their ui forum seems pretty much the most helpful, polite official forum on that site as well...

also check out the official Lua website, and learn the basics of the language....

i'm pretty sure there are stickies in the worldofwarcraft.com ui forum giving you links of where to get started coding addons...basically, i've found all this info without really looking for it...i suggest you learn how to google before you try to learn how to program :)

I haven't found any websites on making addons that are really for beginners. The closest thing I can recommend is the "Hacking World of Warcraft" book, which has several chapters on how to make addons. I got started with it, then once I understood the basics, started learning from wowwiki.
